Sarah Palin Not First Choice for 90+% of Educated Republicans

I don't think Sarah is racist. "American exceptionalism" as you understand it, USAR ~ homophobia, racism, and sexism ~ will never be permitted in this country again. The country is younger, darker, more technological, more sophisticated than our generation, bub, and will turn its back on racial politics. Shoot, Sarah will take your vote, then tell you to shut up about race etc after that.

Why is it so surprising that most intellectual Republicans don't want her to be president?

I'm confident that most intellectual Democrats don't want Cynthia McKinney for president...

So she loses what? Like a hundred votes? Big deal.

USArmyRetired totally represents the Republican Party.

Anti gay
anti poor
anti Muslim
anti Hispanic
anti liberal
anti feminist
anti atheist
anti education
anti middle class
anti science

It's like you have "Uncle Sam" and "Anti Republican".

Except, no one told USArmyRetired that he is one of the poor. Oops. Republicans want his vote so they can royally screw his ass.

I was reading about all those jobs Obama saved in the car industry. Many said they really appreciate Obama for saving their jobs and keeping them in their homes, but they couldn't vote for him because they think he's a "Muslim". Seems they heard it on Fox News.
Poor? If you search my posting history you will know since I retired from the Army years ago, I've been part owner of a family domestic independent oil and gas drilling company here in Louisiana. Research my old name Tea Party Ted for results. Also that is why I am a strong supporter of Palin and her domestic drilling policies for land and offshore that she would impose on the USA to help stimulate the economy. It is paramount that we do so to ensure that our dependence of foreign oil is depleted. We need to return to American exceptionalism and white working Americans will vote for her to make sure that happens this time around.

None of the contenders for the 2012 GOP nomination oppose drilling. You don't have to support a halfwit like Palin to get your own special interest taken care of.

I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for several years, and I met very few people up there prejudiced about race. If USAR thinks SP is prejudiced, I don't know what he is basing that on.

Generally, the more education a Republican has, the less likely they are to support Ms. Palin to lead the Republican Party.

Three recent surveys of Republican primary voters suggest significant divides in support for Ms. Palin based on the educational attainment of the voter. A poll released this morning by Marist College show Ms. Palin as the first choice of 17 percent of Republicans who have not graduated from college, giving her a slight lead among that group. But her support is just 7 percent among Republican college graduates, which placed her fifth behind Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingirch and Chris Christie.

A Quinnipiac poll, likewise, finds Ms. Palin with the support of 22 percent of Republicans who have not graduated from college, but of 10 percent of those who have. A CNN poll, meanwhile — using a slightly different criterion that focuses on whether voters attended college, whether or not they graduated from it — finds Ms. Palin drawing 20 percent of Republican voters who haven’t attended college, but only 9 percent of those who have.

Palin Draws Limited Support Among College-Educated Republicans - NYTimes.com

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Romney winning the nomination in 2012. Christie would be a fascinating choice as well.

How many Republicans are college-educated? 5%? 10%? So that would be 4.5%-9% of Republicans?

(note:this was from the 2006 election)

'Fairly even' applies to 'Some College' and 'College Graduate' for sure.

even 58/41 isnt a HUGE spread
not as much as 64/35 is

and i guess we should look at the results for the last election

seems it was a bit closer this election

I like the new stats a lot. So tell me why those numbers shifted. It was not political ideology, it was worry over the economy. If the economy remains weak, then Romney has a chance.

Give us a link for those stats.

and why do you think the numbers were what they were in 2006?

Not worried about that, dive. I wanted to look at those numbers. What's heartening for the GOP is the female voters are up. I would expect the party would get those over 65, and there are going to be more of them over the next 25 years, then die off. If the economy stays south, Romney can win. If the economy is solidly recovering, then the electorate may very well go for a split government and re-elect Obama. I think the Senate will go GOP by three to four votes in 2012 based on who is running from what party, which only helps the GOP.

Economy will be almost everything, I suspect.

I posted this from 2008 mccain and obama on page 6, in short prognostication based on polls like this, means little.....its a formula that gets people elected.

No High School High School Some College College Graduate Postgrad. Edu.
Obama 63% 52% 51% 50% 58%
McCain 35% 46% 47% 48% 40%
Nader 0% 1% 1% 1% 1%

Percent of voters 4% 20% 31% 28% 17%

I have highlighted the 'low end and high ( coll grads since that they are the much larger number)' of the education status of the voters....

notice anything peculiar or remarkable?

sorry the numbers don't line up...the chart is here;
Red states and blue states - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

its all a formula; the right amount of looks, apparent intellect, common sense, populism gets you there, no one sect etc.

and...just for the heck of it-

Under $15k/ $15k - $30k/ $30k - $50k/ $50k - $75k /$75k - $100k/$100k -$150k/ $150k - $200k/ $200k or more

Obama 73% 60% 55% 48% 51% 48% 48% 52%
McCain 25% 37% 43% 49% 48% 51% 50% 46%
Nader 1% 2% 1% 0% 1% 1% 0% 1%

that is not true
Obama's numbers were pretty even across the board
with the exception of the low income
