I get that many will disagree, but Charlie Kirk should be canonized. There are so many things about him, his life and his achievements and his life that call for ecclesiastical recognition of his abbreviated time in this world.

He gave his life to and for God and deserves to be recognized for it.

Canonization is a process.

It is also Orthodox, thus the majority of Christianity. Saint Peter would disagree so I really don't get why it would be "unbiblical".

Weird

It is. But that would be a discussion for the Religion forum... and TBH, even if someone were to start a thread on that topic, I wasn't planning on spending my Saturday afternoon rounding up scriptures to show and explain how the whole idea of posthumous saints is unbiblical. Maybe another time.

Posthumous saints? Have there ever been any living saints except in New Orleans football?

Anyway, spend your Saturday afternoon any way you like. I really don't give a rat's ass.

Here's the short answer. I added the bold:

Beatification and canonization are rites and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and are based on a misunderstanding and/or misinterpretation of Scripture. Saints are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christians are saints—and at the same time are called to be saints. In Roman Catholic practice, the saints are revered, prayed to, and in some instances, worshiped (although this is vehemently denied by Catholics). In the Bible, saints are called to revere, worship, and pray to God alone.

The Irish Ram, hadit, SweetSue92 - please chime in, I gotta go and wasn't planning on getting into this discussion, lol!

You can play the devil's advocate or go on to your exciting plans for Saturday evening, night here. Really don't give a rat's ass.

He sort of is like the modern day Americanized version of Saint Patrick so even though I'm not Catholic, why not!? 😁 I mean after all we recently got this guy. 😊

I count him a brother, and expect he will be in the blessed first resurrection of the dead. He died a Martyr.
And he is already a saint as us anyone who has the Holy Spirit

He brought his own death upon himself by preaching hatred.

Don't you have to be Catholic first?

Looks like Charlie Kirk wasn't Catholic though and for what it's worth I didn't think that he was. I'm not sure if he's done any miraculous things though.
