That is sad.

As ignorant as her words seem, please keep in mind however, that just two weeks before this woman made these comments, Nancy Pelosi was walking through San Francisco's Chinatown trying to get people to come down and support the restaurants and other businesses.
Um, yeah, those Chinese businesses didn't have Covid at that time. That's the problem with responding to a disease with more racism. These people lost their businesses and we all got sick anyway.

Karen Kolb Sehlke is the Texas woman who called the COVID-19 a hoax.

Her actual words were:

"Wake up!!! This is what the beginning of socialism looks like!

They are leading with fear causing you to panic like sheep.

… You don’t need hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and Lysol. You need common sense, a sense of direction, faith, a will to fight, and of course guns!

Now wash your hands and live the life they don’t want you to have!"

Karen Kolb Sehlke died 4/2/2020 due to complications from the COVID19 virus.
It is a shame she died. And I feel for her family and loved ones. But willful ignorance can be dangerous.
That story is a hoax. A woman like that certainly had life insurance. But now their family begging for money to bury her. You guys needs more celebrities to fooled me.

Christ...blame Trump. He's responsible for calling it a hoax, his slow reaction--how many rallies and golf outings did the blob have in January?
That's a lie. Nobody called it a hoax.

"But a Johns Hopkins study found the United States is better prepared for a pandemic than any other country. Released in October 2019, the Global Health Security Index examined 195 countries on their preparedness and ability to handle an epidemic or pandemic. It found: “No country is fully prepared for epidemics or pandemics, and every country has important gaps to address.”

Where the US is having problems is with the COVID-19 testing and that is the fault of the CDC and FDC (new rules previously set up under the Obama Administration).

'"No, Trump did not cut funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Among those pushing this untruth is former Vice President Joe Biden, who said, “They’ve cut the funding for the CDC.” Trump proposed a CDC cut, but Congress disagreed. FactCheck.org wrote: “It’s misleading at best to claim Trump ‘slashed funding,’ when his proposals haven’t taken effect. For instance, Trump’s fiscal 2020 budget proposal would have reduced CDC funding by $750.6 million, compared with what was enacted for fiscal 2019. … But Congress passed, and Trump signed, a budget that increased CDC funding by $420 million.”'

Obama's former veep is lying.

Yep. He did call it a hoax and Yep, he did botch the response.

There is no denying the man is a prolific liar, a whoremonger, and a con man. All of these are proven facts. Why you trust anything that comes out of this administration is a mystery. I'm guessing you're either mentally disabled or stupid.
or not

I never thought it a hoax, but I also thought and still think the horse is already out of the barn and the "fix" is worse than the disease itself. And did she die of the virus, or was there other ailments that complicated things for her? And does it matter if she smokes or not? What if she was an alcoholic?

I plan to take care to the best of my ability, but I am still fed up with the bullshit and bad instructions by all concerned. Wear a mask, don't wear a mask; go visit chinese restaurants don't go; Hydrox stuff works, doesn't work; death due to virus but patient was 96 years old and had a bad heart/diabetes/insert disease here___________.

I feel bad for the lady because someone or many someones will blame her when all she wanted to do was live free as we all have been doing all our lives and had doubts. It was not her fault she got it and died. It was china's fault. Period.
Please, why don't you just shut the fuck up? You obviously know nothing.
huh? she's dead on.

Nothing in your quote says she "called it a hoax "
So the only way she called it a hoax was if she used the word "hoax". I would think claiming that people taking precautions are being called "sheep", and saying you don't need hand sanitizer and Lysol, is pretty much the same as.
I read what you posted and actually did a google search. She nowhere called the virus a HOAX.

I dont have hand sanitizer, and it is NOT necessary.
Soap and water, 20 seconds of real washing kills every virus.
You do know that hand sanitizer was made before this virus was a thing...yet I don't recall many people "rebelling" against or mocking others for using it....

Her being against using hand sanitizer is a DIRECT REPUDIATION of advice from health experts -- people using sanitizer shouldn't trigger her now like it didn't trigger her then

And how the fuck do guns help fight a virus?

I doubted the broad impact of this too. I take it seriously now because I'm not stubborn and I read many media sources.

I will say though, much of this lies in the hands of those who didn't inform the world, including the W.H.O who told us in January it couldn't be transmitted from person to person.

All of the destruction that followed, lies at their feet. There must be consequences for the W.H.O and China. Whether we want to accept it or not, everything that follows, even the doubters; has the same source in a pandemic that could have been limited by 95%
Curiously missing from the wannabe USian's post is any mention of Rump, speaking of calling it a 'hoax'.

There's ^^ my link. Where's yours?

Still waiting on a link from like two years ago. You are lying again. It's even an old lie that never took. Now aren't you supposed to feign outrage and sadness or something?

While I am sad for her family and friends, she chose to put her life on the line, even though she didn't have to, given no report that she was a medical professional. Let's just hope that she did not infect anyone else.
There are posters on this board who are STILL saying they're going to go to church and they're not going to wear a mask. Me, I started spending a lot of time at home alone starting in January, first with the flu (no, not covid19), then my tooth absessed, and then the flu rebounded. This was a stomach flu. I was just emerging from 6 weeks of lying on my sofa binge watching sports on TV, when the virus hit North America.

So I've been self-isolating since January. In part because I was so sick, and worn down by the infection. I knew my immune system couldn't take another hit. So here I am, relaxing, visiting friends via FaceTime, and posting.
I hope that you are recuperating well and rapidly returning to good health. I have stomach issues that have kept me sidelined for a while. I can't believe that people still refuse to follow necessary guidelines. What angers me the most is the complete disregard that these idiots display toward the health and well-being of others. There was one total jerk interviewed as she drove up to church who said that she was going to Walmart and Home Depot, too. She just plain didn't care!

I lived in Toronto during SARS in 2003. Those who did, took this VERY seriously from day one, and that includes our Premier, Doug Ford. Dougie is former Mayor Rob Ford's dumber younger brother. But he has handled this very well, to the utter shock of everyone, because he's fucked up everything else so badly.

I went to Toronto January 22nd to go to the Canadian Figure Skating Championships live in Mississauga on Friday night, and to watch it with my friends on Saturday. I questioned the wisdom of going to the city then. I've been hunkered down ever since. I didn't make it Saturday. Fever and chills, and by Sunday morning I was worshipping at the porcelin altar.

My Toronto friends get together often over the winter to watch sports on TV. We go to live tennis, figure skating, baseball and basketball games together. One of our group is a travel agent who gets our entire group deals on hotels and airlines. When there's a big event on TV we get together for Not Going To . . . . parties where we watch on TV, drink wine and smart cocktails, and eat - all day. There are 6 of us, and we've been getting together to go to events for 20 years. And if we don't get together, we have a private facebook chat about whatever sports we're all watching on TV.

This year, everything is now cancelled so we can't even do that. I'm jones-ing for baseball. Real bad. The Baby Jays were just learning to be a team and so much fun to watch.

Trump did not call the virus a hoax
He called something a hoax. What was it that he called a hoax?

Fears that it could spread and kill tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of Americans?

Trumpybear is the hoax. Zero, lol. Millions were hoaxed, by Trumpybear.

This story is fake. I believe that it is a couple that is trying to profit off of this pandemic. She probably pretended to be sick. Then later on, her family spread the story that she has passed away. Then they create a Go Fund Me account which you cannot track who is the one that created it. And nobody in the town will not be able to verify that she even exist.

NY governor Cuomo and NYC mayor DeBlasio called it a hoax early in the epidemic and accused citizens of being "racists" if they didn't conform to liberal doctrine and defend China. Why do a victory dance over some poor woman in freaking Texas who died of the disease?

It's proof that the disease is treated like a political issue and sociopath liberals have absolutely no sense of compassion.

I've been trying to find an obituary in the Houston Chronicle, (Tomball is a suburb of Houston) but so far haven't found anything. There are a lot of posters out there all over the internet that believe the story is a hoax, but I haven't seen proof either way.
The Daily Kooks, retracted their story, then posted that they believed the story was a Russian hoax. They then deleted that, and once again they are running their original story.
I did find her sister-in-law's FB page. At least the page claims to be the woman's sister-in-law, and she says the story is true. There are also many FB posters that have left some despicable comments.
I can give you the link to that FB page if you'd like.
