Republican House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan is unveiling his 2015 budget, a 100-page document that would cut spending by $5.1 trillion over the next ten years and spur dramatic changes to social programs.

The plan, which Ryan says would balance the budget over the course of the decade, would repeal the Affordable Care Act, restructure entitlement programs and reshape food stamp programs into block grants

Good for him. Finally someone with the understanding and courage to take on the elephant in the room and neuter it. If liberal revered Nate Silver is correct, the Senate will switch contro and finally we can get beyond Harry Reid's one man bottle neck obstructionism to get things moving again.

Like I needed another reason to vote for him.

They're up to maybe 10 million Americans that they would have to take healthcare coverage away from if they repealed the ACA. The Democrats have to run in 2014 with those people at the forefront of their campaigns.

Ryan also quietly, sheepishly, changed his plans for Medicare into a 'choice' proposal...

...choose to go to a voucher plan, or stay on the original Medicare.

Tens of billions in science and infrastructure projects are currently being developed throughout America. The wasteful thing about cutting midway through is it kills off these projects and we don't complete the project.

This is how wasteful these idiots are. Short sighted.

I predict they will continue to use the word 'repeal', in order to appease the nuts on the right,

but more and more they will flesh out the 'replace' side of that equation, and the replacing part will effectively leave most of the ACA intact.

Oh, there's lots for some rw's to love about his "budget".

Starting with cuts to food for children, elderly, vets, disabled.

And, after blowing off $51 million dollars on previous admittedly phony votes against ObamaCare, why wouldn't he keep on that winning streak?

:cuckoo:

Don't forget, more huge tax cuts for the wealthy "job creators" so they can finally start creating jobs.

WHO would be dumb enough to vote for this shit?

You idiots are the most dishonest people in the world.

No where in the article did it say Ryan was cutting food for children, elderly, vets or the disabled.

Aaaaaaaannnnd another reason to vote for him: the USMB resident idiot is against him.

What's weird is the nobility needs infrastructure as much as anyone. They know damn well a private corp couldn't do it without charging them out the ass either for it.

The current system is the best of both worlds...I guess they're just short sighted!

Correction, who would be dumb enough NOT to vote for this?

Answer: Obamabots.

Dishonest and stupid. Just point at them and laugh, that's all the effort they deserve.

ABC Washington Post polling seems now to have put the Ryan agenda, more into the Romneytrocity brand of the most recent national election. There is actually a finding of more people in favor of ObamaCare, than in the opposition. There is Conservative support for ACA. Kentucky actually likes what they call theirs, which is not about the Gospel according to McConnell, or even to Senator Paul.

At 49 Percent Support, Obamacare Hits a High - ABC News

More people actually signed up so far than had been expected, despite all the debacles. There are likely more beyond that to be accomodated. The rules actually allow for continued sign-ups past the deadline, under a lot of circumstances.

So RNC and Boehner-Cantor-McConnell-Ryan-Paul-Paul, et. al., now seem to find the Democratic yacht-goers, with the wind at their backs going forward.
