If you were on a ship, gunned down as you tell your story, would you hide or stand out to be shot down? I have piloted 3 types of Pipers and a Mooney 201. Nobody saw my face were the party standing on a ship. Also you must have seen boats. Could you even see men on ships of any kind to see their faces? I watched yesterday as Elon Musk's team brought back the ignored by Biden astronauts. The ship approaching the Capsule was clearly not showing the men's faces and in fact only 2 of the men on the recovery ship at very close range exposed their faces.

Before I was a pilot, I worked for months at the Schweinfurt Airport Army base. I knew pilots of both Helicopters and fixed wing airplanes. I was talking to them on the field radio a lot of the time. She was built on the hull of a Victory Ship (another common type of mass produced freighter during WWII )

Only 534 of them were built.
