Russia's economy is already suffering from their aggression

The US has plenty of natural gas. The Europeans would just have to invest in new infrastructure and pay the US twice as much.
We had a surplus under Trump...in less than a year and a half under Biden...that's no longer the case, Surada! Joe Biden's anti fossil fuel agenda has consequences globally. He's given Putin leverage over Europe that he never would have had and Putin is taking advantage.

Trump had nothing else to say to NATO so he just regurgitated a problem that had already been resolved.
Resolved? Our NATO allies weren't coming close to living up to what they were supposed to be putting into NATO and Obama did nothing about that. Trump did. Trump actually strengthened NATO. Obama let it continue to get weaker.

Russian stocks plunged and the ruble slid closer to a record low on Tuesday as investors reacted to President Vladimir Putin’s decision to order troops into eastern Ukraine.

Moscow’s MOEX stock index dropped 4% after shedding more than 10% on Monday, bringing losses so far this year to over 20%. In total, more than $40 billion has been wiped off the value of Russian stocks this week alone.

The ruble fell toward 81 versus the US dollar on Tuesday, its weakest level in more than a year and close to its record low. The moves prompted Russia’s central bank to announce measures to support banks, including a provision that will allow them to use last Friday’s prices for stocks and bonds when reporting their financial positions.

More pain could be on the way.

“We expect further declines near-term in the Russian stock market,” analysts at JPMorgan Chase wrote in a note to clients on Tuesday. The Wall Street bank downgraded Russian equities to “neutral” from “overweight.”

Damage to Russia’s markets and economy would be limited if its troops do not advance beyond the parts of eastern Ukraine that Putin recognized as independent on Monday, according to analysts. But Russia would pay a higher price if further aggression causes the West to respond with punishing sanctions that could cut the country’s banks off from the global financial system and make it difficult to export oil and natural gas.

Will you MAGA nuts applaud when we start suffering from Putin's "Hitler-Like" aggression? It is sad that the repub party is now supporting the fall of a fledgling democracy caused by an Authoritarian regime. trump is actually applauding Putin and cheering for a war.
Again, I am not applauding anything but telling you the Ukraine is none of our business without the authority to go in and do something and the authority would have been a treaty through NATO or a U.N. Resolution authorizing military action.

Simple as that and this is the European Union issue and what the U.S. can do is support a collation of forces from the European Union with economic and other aid but no troops on the ground at all unless sectioned by the U.N. !

Also Putin is more like Stalin and nothing like Hitler but ignorant people scream “ Hitler “ first…

All producers reduced production in 2020 because of COVID. This is "recovery". Nordstream2 has been in the works for a decade and it makes economic sense for the Europeans. Look at the three countries that provide 70 percent of the natural gas for Europe. You're fixated on Biden without knowing anything about gas and oil.

Why aren't you applauding now? Biden is also profiting from this.

Of course it makes sense and despite everything that's being said publicly very quietly behind the scenes it will get certified and turned on in a short period of time regardless of what Russia does.
The dip in the ruble will be more than made up by the sharp rise in hydrocarbon units price per unit.
I expect Putin will come out ahead on that one. Poor European Central Bank..
Looks like they'll have to give up the dreams of grabbing eastern Ukraine to rape it for its mineral rights. Ah well such is life.

More Covid excuses? People are tired of that lame shit, Surada. Joe Biden's POLICIES have led to higher prices every time someone fills their gas tank or heats their homes this winter! That was something that was done deliberately by the left and Biden went along for the ride! He OWNS the result!

More Covid excuses? People are tired of that lame shit,
It's reality. Deal with it ya partisan freak

And yes...Russian oligarch's are not happy that their money is being frozen in non-Russian banks

With any luck they'll throw the bastard out

Trump didn't dismiss NATO, Jim...he forced our NATO partners to put the money into keeping NATO strong. Trump certainly didn't play into Putin's hands! That was clueless Joe Biden who hasn't been right about Russia in decades! Or have you forgotten Biden pooh poohing Mitt Romney when Romney declared Russia to be our biggest threat to peace in the world? As Biden has done time after time when it comes to foreign policy...he got it totally wrong! It was Biden INVITING Putin to do what he just did when Biden made his comment about how a limited action by Russia would most likely not result in a response by America!
trump appeared to be implementing the Putin playbook on NATO. He cloaked it with his fake, "you don't put up enough money" argument. He knew that pulling US troops from strategic positions in Europe would help Putin.

trump is and will always be an authoritarian wannabe. He would jail, and/or, kill his political opponents if he is able. If he is elected again, the US will slide over the cliff into the clutches of an autocracy.

Trump was a real jerk for asking them to pay what they agreed to pay!

Gosh, I hope all of Poopeypants and your Russian buddies will be okay....

None of them are short on the very minimal dues that are required.
HIs insistence that NATO members pay more was just a ploy to degrade NATO in Europe. That would play into his hero, Putin's hands.

Even more telling is the fact that Germany just said no to their gas exports and Putin just laughed and kept on keeping on. That is how important sanctions are against him.

When they replace the word "sanctions" with "embargo" that's when we know they are being serious.

Until then Russian gas continues to flow to Western and Eastern Europe.

You know the dues issue was just a smoke screen to weaken NATO, right?

Again, it was concern over the overall military spending and preparedness of our NATO allies. After the Cold War ended most of the countries throttled down their militaries way too far.

They removed conscription without taking the on the costs needed to make a professional military work.

Yes because making European countries strengthen their militaries makes it easier for Russia to threaten them with their own military.......

Do you even think for 5 seconds before you type?
