He has been doing the same thing for 27 years, saying something one day and then denying he ever said it when it is reported in the media, lying that they are misquoting him because they are out to get him. And for 27 years his suckers have been stupid enough to believe him even though they heard him say what he denies saying simply because they see themselves as perpetual VICTIMS just like him.

Not "people" but advertisers. Ad buyers pay those confiscatory ad rates to buy access to the numbers, so that they can cash in. Exactly the same reason a snake oil salesman who draws a crowd will attract pickpockets.

Actually, every time we buy a product or service that advertises on Program XYZ, we are paying for Program XYZ. Whether we have ever watched or listened to that program or not.
On the other hand, NPR, PBS and the like get the majority of their funding from voluntary contributions. Meaning the on-air begathons, the direct appeal.

i'm not much of a consumer Pogo except I did buy some Sherri Berris a few months ago , sent them to my daughter . Mostly I buy practical things and I try to make them last by taking care of those few items . I hate products that are made to be disposable . I buy stuff that can be rebuilt except for underwear and t-shirts .
