I don’t like the idea of Ronda Rousey going back into MMA. You can only take so many hits to the head before permanent damage is the result. She is very beautiful and I especially like that she has not stained herself with a lot of tattoos. But she is still young and one more smash to the head could be the one. I know she is doing it for the money, so I don’t judge her for that. But given the history of MMA fighters both male and female, I hope she stays healthy and uses this for a last big payday. I dont think shes hurting for money. She signed a 9 million dollar deal with the WWE in 18. Gina Carano's last fight before last night was 09 and she wasnt a super star then I dont think the almost 20 years off made her a better fighter.

Gina Carano had to loose 100lbs to make weight and all those years off was a sign it was going to be a short match. Rhonda kept in shape and that was the edge. Gina in her prime was one of the best in MMA. They both made some money with a few calling ''fix'' but I doubt it.

I was 25-0. Of course I fought 25 3rd graders. Who you fight matters and Carano didnt fight anyone of consequence, well except Cyborg and Rousey, her 2 losses. I have zero experience as an MMA fighter and I could keep Rousey from arm barring me for longer than 17 seconds.

MM isn't a one trick pony which is what Rousey is, and always has been. Doesn't mean she's not an all-time great in the women's division but don't get carried away. I didn't say I would beat Rousey. I didn't say I could go 5 rounds or even 1 round with her. I said I could avoid getting tapped by the singular submission RR has put on just about every opponent she's faced for 17 seconds. Of her 13 wins 7 of them are via armbar. She's not submitted anyone any other way. There are defenses against the armbar. This wasn't a street fight where Carano didn't know she would be fighting Rousey.

Outside the fact that I outweigh Rousey by 80 lbs and am probably twice as strong as she is if I had 6 months to train to not get tapped by an arm bar and we are starting on our feet it would take at least a minute. But the point here is that if Carano were actually an all time great which was the original contention she would have been able to survive longer than 17 seconds, evidenced by the fact that actual all time greats (and not so greats) in the sport have not only not been tapped that quickly but have managed survive entire matches without being tapped by it or beat her and that was when Rousey was in her prime. Carano was and is a mid tier fighter at best.
