Romney will be the GOP nominee.
Perry is too extreme for the general election.
Romney is the best candidate anyway.
whatever you are smoking, can you send me some?
How come nobody ever frets that the Democrats are nominating someone "too extreme" when they nominate a socialist like Obama or a flag burner like Kerry or Clinton or an Eco- whackjob like Al Gore?
Romney will not be the nominee for the following reasons.
1) MOrmonism. 22% of the electorate, including 19% of Republicans, will not vote for a Mormon. Polls have born this out again and again. More importantly, the Evangelicals consider Mormons to be outright heretics. nominate Romney, you will get a third party that will split the vote.
2) Too Liberal- His record speaks for itself. The guy created what would become ObamaCare, has supported gun control, abortion rights and gay rights. Do you ever wonder why liberals don't have a big issue with Romney, at least not right now?
3) Doesn't connect with people- This has always been his problem. He comes off as aloof, robotic and kind of looks like "The Guy who Lays you off" as Huckabee said.
4) Sleazy Business practices- He has a whole record of laying people off. If Perry doesn't hit him on this during the primaries, Obama will KILL him on it during the general.
5) A sure fire loser.- Romney lost three out of the four elections he's run in. He hasn't been a "Career Politician", but isn't for a lack of trying, it's for a lack of winning.
