That being said, however, we must be very, very careful when criticizing, censoring or deconstructing the written works of others or using them as ammunition for character assassination. Suppose Stephen King had written a novel about child murder (he has—several)? Would we so-called conservatives be calling for the confiscation of his guns or to prohibit him from purchasing more, based on his writings? What if such writings were done in first person?

No, because that would be insane and a violation of his rights.

Such a very, very slippery slope we're dealing with here. The political Left calls for censorship on social media and the political Right freaks the fuck out. Yet here we have an instance of the political Right condemning the written works of a democrat politician and using them against him because he is actively trying to take away their freedom to practice certain constitutional rights.

You ask me, this is but more evidence proving our nation needs to hurry up and divorce the two major political parties geographically, or fight a second civil war. And it is conclusive proof people need to take care what they post on social media and the internet in general.
