USMB has some pretty sharp posters....this discussion was held here about two weeks ago soon after the sanctions were mentioned and the ban on Ruble related financial activity was implemented. This was of course the predictable outcome and the IMF is soft pedaling it frankly. Pay close attention people and start learning Mandarin now...it is a difficult language so give yourself some time.

Why have you not learned Mandarin then?
Dude...its not because I haven't tried....lol....
It's one thing to go with another Latin derivate....but this! This is a true intellectual feat!
Ever seen the keyboard??? Scare the shit out of ya...

The russian economy is smaller than california

as long as America maintains its position as No 1 the Dollar will be fine

But that means treating China as an enemy that we are at economic war against and making a wartime effort to stay No 1

Exactly.....fat chance....but yes you are correct.... still though this is a disturbing trend. To the extent that the Ruble-Yaun Relationship legitimizes the Yaun it is the beginning of a very slippery slope. China has more man hours to give than we do and they can leverage that into their dealings with other currency partners.

One shouldn't get too hasty with Mandarin. There are 4 million Chinese characters and you will spend much too much time on the wrong language, spoken or read. Chinese themsleves should go the other way around and learn English, Indian, or Russian (Russian-Indian alternate to SWIFT is now in progress). Suggested reading includes an actual book and a thread, Asia's Orthographic Dilemma, post #3 where the less clued-up ask...."What does this have to do with politics?"

It seems that Russia and China can see into the future, but who's assisting who?

'Rather than becoming sudden or catastrophic, the devastating impact of climate change in North China is likely to be incremental and cumulative, escalating relentlessly with each passing decade. If the "Chinese Century" does indeed start around 2030, it is unlikely to last long, ending perhaps sometime around 2050, when the impact of global warming becomes unmanageable. With its main financial center at Shanghai flooded and its agricultural heartland baking in inssuferable heat, China's days as a global power will be numbered.'
(McCoy, To Govern the Globe, p. 312)

There are many people in this country who are looking forward to America as No2 in the world

and they will resist all efforts forestall that future

but if we have the national will we could win this war

Why have you not learned Mandarin then? You seem most willing to supplicate yourself and bend over willingly.
Many may suffer including me but watching you despots get your comeuppances will be a pleasure if it happens.

This is very dangerous for us, they move off the dollar and our massive debt will break America. I have been seeing this coming for a long time.

Did you invest in Rubles? I bet you did because now if France wants Oil and Gas from Russia they have to buy it in Rubles, and The US also has to now buy their Uranium in Rubles.

Iran will be paying Russia $10 Billion US Dollars to help them build Nukes per the Biden Loophole Biden Created for his good buddy Putin but will be paid in Rubles.

Also all the Oil, Gas, Weapons laundered through Iran will be done in Rubles.

Putin says, Thanks Buddy Joe!

Nonsense. Business people throughout the world will never have confidence in Chinese currency for as long as China remains a communist country. No one has confidence in the stability of the Russian government. This will be a blip at most while the Europeans adjust to other energy resources.

India has confidence....China has confidence....1/3 of the worlds current population...and most probably more than half of future aggregate demand. They are on the way up...we are on the way down....in case you haven't noticed Russia is still breathing. The numbers say it shouldn't be...the only explanation for that is a value measure we are not seeing.

No, your CIA blew it by its presence in Ukraine for 70 years. The decadence is salient. Now we see two CIA puppets, one in WH son on drugs, one in Kiev snorting coke. McCoy, The Politics of Heroin: CIA Complicity in the Global Drug Trade.

Not surprised. Values get debauched by the capitalist schizoid axiomatic. What it gives with one hand, it takes away with the other. When it constantly sets, then repels, its own limits, the only value the prisoner can define (see) is the value the prisoner has from the standpoint of social capital (every call is a business call). Duh

70 years?

are you sure about that?

These idiots keep using the dollar as a measuring stick not realizing that China has already abandoned it. In the meantime yuan will gain covert value while we are not watching or noticing and it will come out of nowhere like the red dragon that it is and consume the Western currency markets. These knuckleheads will continue to Pat themselves on the back thinking that all they need to do is measure it by the dollar system.

The only reason that India, China & Russia ever evolved past medieval feudalism is by imitating Western Civilization. None of them have a truly stable government or economy. China could nationalize everything in a heartbeat. It'll be centuries before they get the confidence of the business world.
