Lewinsky was a more than willing participant. She was an adult, and a college graduate. And while the affair was highly inappropriate, there was nothing illegal about it.

Tripp befriended Lewinsky in the hopes of telling a tell-all book about the "immorality" of Bill Clinton, who she personally considered to be a crude and crass man. She then secretly taped her "friend" as Lewinsky poured her heart out to trip about her affair with an older married man. Tripp encouraged Lewinsky to keep the semen stained dress and not have it cleaned because Tripp wanted proof of the affair for her book.

Tripp then gave her tapes to Ken Starr, who forced Monica to testify to the grand jury about the affair. Lewinsky said that she contemplated suicide and that the publicity and public ridicule directed at her after Tripp exposed the affair, literally ruined her life. Monica never spoke to Linda Tripp again, and Lewinsky blames Tripp for everything that happened to her.

Nothing good came out of Linda Tripp's duplicitious behaviour for anyone involved. And her book was never pubished. She became the most hated woman in American and deservedly so.
