60% voting against exec pay is pretty seismic over here. Rio also destroyed an Aboriginal site as well and the shareholders were not happy about that. Now the CEO is history and the pay package has been voted down.

Exec pay has long been a city scandal. They have remuneration boards that are made up of their friends and they push through outrageous pay rises which are not matched by shareholder returns. Its an incestuous little back scratching circle which supine shareholders just ignore.

Are American directors so greedy ?

Well it doesnt generally. The big funds just generally ignore any moral or ethical concerns. It looks like the tide is turning.

Your link requires some kind of sign in, do you have a better link? I have no idea what the pay was or is.

Full Democrat benefits package, abortion mill mental health plan included. It's a whopping fixed-dollar-amount deduction from every employee's paycheck, which has the effect of grossly exaggerating any pay differentials among employees of different rank, seniority, or experience on the EEO // DOE system.
