An Important Reminder To All:
Websites, Blogs, Forums, Message Boards, and all other Internet posting places are never immune from government surveillance. That means that the government regularly monitors all of those places for such things as assassination attempts or even just talk of it. Also for what people are saying about the President of the United States, and they know and have the means to access each and every person's ISP and account information so that if an infraction is found that person can also be found expeditiously and fully investigated. That is why it is important to always be respectful of the law at all times and of what you say especially concerning the President of the United States as no one is immune from being monitored and contacted if necessary in this regard. This is not a scare tactic. It is reality. They can also contact the owner(s) of this message board, just ask the administrator, and ask for the records, ISP information, etc. concerning people who post about such things or who appear to be supportive of others in this regard.
Always good to put such things out there, as a precaution, and fair warning.
Each of us must decide for themselves, whether to participate in such discussions, and what sort of position to take-up, and the extent to which we participate.
A clear understanding of what constitutes a violation of law, or what constitutes an actual threat, or support of such a threat, or what simply passes as a breach of common sense and good taste, should be in the background of all our minds, when participating in conversations of this or some other security-impactful nature.
And, anyone foolish enough to breach such common sense and safety protocols, or to breach the law itself, in such matters, must bear the burden of their mistakes.
However, and nevertheless, mindfulness over the sensitive nature of such discussions should not make people afraid to discuss such things, in keeping with their First Amendment rights.
Finding a proper balance between Freedom of Speech and remaining within the law, in connection with the safety of elected officials like the President, is a no-brainer, for anyone with the competency to participate in such discussions, but that sensitive nature should not impede nor frighten nor discourage open debate and discussion on such matters.
Thank you, for posting that caution, on behalf of the audience.
