Right-wing media figures claimed a bomb threat against Boston Children’s Hospital was a false flag up until the FBI named a suspect

On September 15, the FBI announced the arrest of the individual charged for making a bomb threat against Boston Children’s Hospital in August. Before that, right-wing figures responsible for driving a harassment campaign against Boston Children’s Hospital claimed that the threat was a false flag orchestrated by leftists.

After the suspect’s identity was revealed, a search of the Federal Exchange Commission’s database revealed an individual matching the suspect’s name and location had made more than 230 contributions exclusively to three Republican sources — the Republican National Committee, the committee’s fundraising platform WinRed, and committees supporting the 2020 reelection campaign of Donald Trump.

Up until just hours before the announcement, anti-LGBTQ figures including Chaya Raichik, who runs the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok,” and The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh had latched onto a quickly refuted report to claim the August bomb threat that followed in the wake of their harassment of the facility was a “false flag” and “leftist hoax.”

It had to be a hoax, right? Because just how sick do you have to be to call in a bomb threat to a children's hospital? A place where desperate, frightened parents bring their children to receive medical help.

What kind of people make unfounded accusations of pedophilia about a state rep. because he will not go along with Trump's attempt to steal the election?

‘I took an oath,’ Rusty Bowers, the Arizona House speaker, says of rejecting efforts to overturn the election.

Over nearly an hour, Rusty Bowers, a Republican who is the speaker of the House of Representatives in Arizona, testified on Tuesday in painstaking and emotional detail about the pressure campaign he faced over several weeks after the Nov. 3, 2020, election, in which President Donald J. Trump lost the state.

Mr. Bowers, speaking slowly, also told the House select committee about the harassment he experienced outside his home from Trump supporters in the weeks before Jan. 6, 2021, in which he was called a “pedophile” and other epithets.

Mr. Bowers, who spoke about the Constitution in reverential and spiritual terms, had tears in his eyes as he described his gravely ill daughter enduring some of the harassment outside their house. (She died in late January.) “It was disturbing,” he said. “It was disturbing.”

The answer, MAGA Repubs. The same people who made threats of physical violence against school board members, and poll workers, and teachers..........and now doctors and nurses.

Boston Children's Hospital warns employees over far-right online harassment campaign

Boston Children’s Hospital has warned employees about mounting threats and is coordinating with law enforcement after far-right activists on social media began targeting the hospital with false claims about its treatment of young transgender people.

It’s the most recent in a series of attempts to target hospitals for their work with trans youth, adding to an ongoing wave of anti-LGBTQ sentiment that has hit libraries, schools and even a trans-inclusive Los Angeles spa.

The public relations office of Boston Children’s Hospital sent an email to employees with guidance on how to respond to harassment and threats earlier this week, citing an “increase of threatening and aggressive” phone calls and emails sent to the hospital commenting on treatment of transgender patients.” The email was confirmed to NBC News by a current employee.

How Trump Spread Incitement of Violence Throughout the GOP

Just hours after federal agents entered Mar-a-Lago on August 8 to seize highly classified national security documents, Rep. Paul Gosar urged a fight to the finish. “The FBI raid on Trump’s home tells us one thing,” the far-right Arizona congressman tweeted. “Failure is not an option. We must destroy the FBI.”

Three days later, an Ohio man named Ricky Shiffer donned tactical gear, armed himself with an AR-15, and went to the FBI field office in Cincinnati. After failing to breach the facility, he fled and later died in a shootout with law enforcement. Shiffer was a frequent user of Trump’s Truth Social site, where the ex-president has kept up steady attacks on political opponents and the Justice Department and FBI. Shiffer had posted about imminent violence, telling fellow Trump supporters to be ready “to jump into civil war.”

Welcome to Trumpworld.

“People, this is it,” Shiffer wrote shortly after the Mar-a-Lago news broke. A Navy veteran who claimed he was also at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, he called for stocking up at gun stores with “whatever you need to be ready for combat.” He also said “patriots are heading to Palm Beach” and should kill any federal agents who try to stop them.

Was Shiffer spurred to attack the FBI by the statements from Trump and Gosar? It’s hard to know, and that’s no accident. Shiffer’s actions point to a rhetorical method experts call “stochastic terrorism,” whereby a leader vilifies a person or group in ways likely to instigate random supporters to attack those targets, while the instigator maintains a veneer of plausible deniability. Trump made this form of incitement a hallmark of his presidency, galvanizing extremists by railing against and dehumanizing his “enemies.” The country saw the devastating consequences when his supporters stormed Congress to obstruct certification of the presidential election. And now a growing number of Republicans are emulating Trump’s technique.

You are so blinded.

Right wing media figures show a lack of imagination.

Thats because they report facts.

It is your fake news liars that need imaginations.

And Mother Jones is one of the the biggest piles of shit and lies there is

To be fair, he also uses Raw Story and Daily Kos. Draw your own conclusions from that.....
Actually, I don't. What I draw my conclusions from is your inability to refute the content of my post. Opting instead to disparage the sources. Ever hear the phrase, "don't shoot the messenger?" Sorry that you don't like having the truth thrown in your face, but there it is.

The Great Russian Collusion Conspiracy was an imaginary scandal with imaginary News coverage, it was not real journalism.

Since you never put out anything resembling truth, I’ll just laugh at your pathetic “source”. Whining about “disparaging the sources” when that’s all your idiotic ilk does when the truth slaps you in the face. Try again moron.

Still waiting for an attempt at factual refutation from you.

You’re a liar. Clear enough for you moron? You’ve never posted a single thing that wasn’t a Dem talking point. Clear enough? You have zero relationship with the truth. Clear enough?

The left is a bunch of misunderstood but completely sane Boy Scouts
Didn't say that. I pointed out examples of MAGA Repubs using intimidation and threats of violence. Something you defenders of all things Trump are conspicuously avoiding.

All you have is noise. Still waiting for an attempt at factual refutation from you.

Suck on this.

One of us is.

The nation's top election security official broke down as she recounted the vitriol targeting election officials, including those in her home state of Washington. "It's unnerving," said Kim Wyman, now the senior election lead at the nation's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

"Threats like 'we're going to hang you.' And 'I hope somebody puts a bullet in your head,'" Wyman told CBS News in her first TV interview since accepting her new role.

Semi-fascists do that sort of thing.
