I don't like to put myself in the middle of a potential family argument over some dead guy's guns with people I know.....I'll always pass on that.....People are weird when it comes to that type of thing....I have 1st hand experience.
When my FIL passed he had eight pretty nice "Fudd" guns.....My MIL called and asked if I would come and get them as she did not want them in the house.....Fine, I picked them up and asked what she wanted me to do with them.
Just keep them she said but I told her I had no interest in them but I could put them on consignment, and she could get something for them as a couple were kinda valuable. Fine she said and that is what I did the same day.....Done and done right?
Oh fuck no!
Over the next couple weeks I kept getting these
"he said I could have (insert gun name) when he died" calls. I told them where they were they could be purchased. They were not happy.
I had one SIL that would not talk to me for years over that shit! Just as well, I did not like her anyway.
Despite the angst at least my MIL made some decent coin off of them.
