Require mod to tell you when you’re thread-banned

“Flaming” is ill-defined.

The message I got was (as is too often the case) anonymous. And I don’t recall what I even wrote n that thread (but believe I was just following up on an observation about some weird ass teacher thing concerning PC and woke shit). A one-off one liner and “bam.”

The reason was “flaming.” I don’t believe it was flaming. On the other hand, I don’t care very much. I do think the board should more clearly define its terms.
I don't think I've ever been assigned any 'points' for infractions. But one mod was regularly removing my posts and explained it to me that I was responding to another member's what I would call 'flaming' without addressing the OP. I had to admit I was most likely guilty as charged though when a post is removed, you can't go back to see the exchange. (And I sometimes have a short memory re what I post. :) ) Of course the person I was interacting with was most likely the one who reported me. Some here are deliberately dishonest/devious that way.

A post has to be really REALLY bad for me to report it though. I don't like to aggravate the mods and it's easy enough to dismiss/ignore the trolls when it is obvious they're doing nothing more than baiting people.

I've honestly felt that if all us us reported every 'illegal' post, the mods wouldn't be able to keep up with it all.

But maybe I'm doing a disservice by not reporting? But yes when we aren't told what we did wrong, there is often no way to know what it is that we did. And each of the few posts I've had removed, I was advised the post was removed but I had to ask what post it was and why it was removed. (Often the mod can't remember either.)

Mods act on reports sent in by other members. Chances are, if you come across a reply in a Zone 1 or 2 thread that breaks the rules, someone hasn't reported it. You can do that.

Most times, people already know WHY they are being thread banned and don't need to be told. Let's say the thread is about Garcia being sent out of the USA and someone decides to bring up the subject of a hostage being mistreated in another country. The comment is ignored by nearly everyone in the thread, yet the person making it continues to repeat it. Why would someone do that KNOWING it's off topic and disrupts the thread? It has absolutely nothing to do with the opening post. A thread ban is warranted in this case and if they aren't given a warning with points, they should feel pretty damn lucky!
Interesting. I did not know that one could be banned, in a thread. I thought that a ban was site wide?
LOL! I wonder if its happened to me and I didn't even notice?

If I feel like flaming without topical content I post in the FZ. I wonder why more people don't take that option?

As for trolls...you cannot engage in social media without running into some..a thick skin and the ignore function work wonders~

Litwin is doing that in every thread he invades. The thread can be about colorful flowers and he will make it an anti-Russia thread posting large collections of X, YT and Pics.
Report the posts!

Failure to identity who they are indicates that they seek power, but do not wish to be held responsible for what they do. They know they are targeting the poster but want to do it on the sly.

Thread ban notifications, when we select to notify members, go to "Alerts" - the bell shaped icon at the top of the screen.

Yes, but the question I raised is why aren’t members notified? You yourself just said sometimes you select to do so.

The problem comes in when a mod just slams the gate shut, without explanation or notice, and does not disclose who she is.

I have to laugh when I see that. You see, we have people here who do nothing but troll every thread irritating and annoying people, so these are the people most often put on ignore. Once on ignore, you cannot report their abusive posts because the ignore function does nothing but blind YOU to the same crap they keep doing all the time. And those not ignoring them don't report them, because they want to argue back at them instead.

Net effect: the worst members here likely get reported the least while these same people go on trying to manipulate other people into some action which they then can report.

Once again, another XenForo feature which creates the exact opposite of the desired effect.
I see your problem. Not being able to report people you have on ignore infringes on the right to whine. Nobody should put up with that.

It is interesting to note, too, who ISN'T thread banned.

You know what they say -- all the animals are free, but some are just more free than other.

No American should have to put up with a British Israelophobe either, spreading propaganda, yet here we are.

All you need to do is support sex with children and death to Jews and you will be fine.

….or adopt a sig line that is beyond reprehensible to Jews. We have one poster who signs off with “Justice for Hitler” and another celebrating the gas used in the chambers to exterminate Jews.

The Far Left & Left have major issues with Israel and practicing Jews .
