If Republicans were in charge, they would increase the STEM budget without raising taxes. They would gut the arts, humanities, and social sciences and give the money to STEM. The only sciences I see Republicans bashing are Global Warming and there is a small subset that actually concern themselves with the whole Evolution vs. Creationism issue. Most Republicans do not have passionate beliefs about Evolution and are not willing to argue about it.
There's plenty of anti-Science on the left. I know liberals who do not vaccinate their children and I know an older hippy couple that when the wife was diagnosed with cancer (turned out to be a false diagnose), they were planning on skipping chemotherapy and having her treated holistically with herbs, relaxation, and acupuncture. Most importantly, the left does not seem to have the need for America be the most technologically advanced country in the world. Taxpayer money is wasted on the arts and billions of taxpayer dollars are wasted on social sciences that are toxic and divisive to our culture. Psychologists have destroyed the educational system by removing discipline from the classroom. We train foreign citizens to obtain technical skills instead of beating wok ethic into American children and cranking out skilled workers. We teach children to live at home with their parents until they're 30 and rack up 50,000 dollars worth of student loans getting a degree in Art History. This insanity is not the work of down to earth conservatives. It's a result of the children of the Greatest Generation not kicking enough hippy a** in the late 60s and early 70s.
If conservatives were in charge, scientists and inventors who advance us technologically, especially if there are military applications to their work would actually be very highly prized. Skilled trade workers would be highly valued for their technical skill. Productive workers would be praised for being top producers. We need to be perpetually stuck in the mindset of the Industrial Revolution. Ultimately, greed combined with an insatiable drive to succeed will inspire Americans to work the hardest, make the most important inventions, and simply out produce the rest of the world. This mindset of needing to out technologically advance and out produce the rest of the planet as well as conserving the greatest culture in the history of the world will be the savior of our civilization.
