However this concern could be easily alleviated by connecting registration with REAL ID, and even better by centralizing birth certificate information to make registration, passports, etc. even easier.
Because they are afraid that if Trump wins, they'll be deported.

The Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Homeland Security, and State Department already know who all the citizens are.
There shouldn't even need to be "voter registration" as we know it today.

No it's not, the number of illegal aliens casting votes is so small it's infinitesimal.
Implement a national voter eligibility system, allow states and local precincts to verify eligibility and be done with it. The cost would be a lot less than shutting down the government.

There are easily enough illegal aliens to sway a election over to Democrats, and this was the case even before Biden came into office and let 10 million more into the country.

What loopholes and which states? This isn't a Federal Problem and according to the Constitution, the Feds can only suggest, not pass laws concerning the States Elections.
Hmm. Then why go thru the trouble of registering them to vote if they can't vote? Some questions answer themselves.
