It is amazing that only a few years after the mortgage meltdown these clowns would want to reduce lending standards for mortgages and write loans up to 97% of value. The excuse, as always, is to help the poor. It is mere pandering.
If Republicans think they can win election by buying votes like Democrats they ought to be ashamed.

I think it was on this forum that I pointed out a few days ago that the GSEs have had almost every significant player in government at one time or another on their payroll. Republican and Democrat.
