See when the Great Recession was in full swing, Obama was smart enough to understand that if millions of people lost their jobs against their will, they needed a safety net. That meant extending unemployment benefits as a part of his stimulus package. What republicans were too dumb to understand is that those lost jobs were GONE. They didn't go to anyone else. That means those millions of people were hopelessly unemployed.until NEW jobs could be created. Fortunately, the extension of those benefits had another function. It created a stimulus that actually helped to create jobs. People are broke when they lose their jobs. So when they received those benefits, it allowed them to spend money they wouldn't have had otherwise. That means they spent it IMMEDIATELY on essentials like food, clothing and shelter. This prompt boost in consumer spending created economic growth in the market and therefore JOBS.. This, in addition to a big tax cut for the middle class and expansion of food stamps for the very poor created 3 million private jobs. GDP from the stimulus package alone went up 2%.

Either way, there really isn't much incentive to be on unemployment. You only get 60% of the wage you got from your last job.

Max out at $900/every two weeks in some states. Not great if you live in NY SF DC and your rent/mortgage+taxes is $3K. Used to be 13 weeks? but then 26 weeks with extension then 52 weeks....then 99 weeks max. (hence the "99'ers"). I do have loads of sympathy for say 49 yr old former manager (or office?) with kids, mortgage....trying to find another job. I think UI was one of things BHO had to do. Not sure if his other policies delayed the market so much.....he had to do it?

not sure about any of that? I do know CA gave Drivers License to ~900K. total about 675 bought minimum car insurance. Against the law to drive without but they on the road. No enforcement unless pulled over. They able to register the car w/o insurance?

If the U.S. government sent the parents of these children away, we would be separating families. Now that these families have given birth to U.S. citizens, the families are eligible for benefits such as WIC and food stamps. Benefits such as these are for low income families. Illegal aliens often work in low paying jobs so they now qualify for benefits.

Illegal immigrants enter the country by overstaying their visa. Officers of the law do not make it a habit to stop people and ask to see their papers. What this means is that if a person overstays their visa, they can find ways to work and receive benefits.
