Senator Ron Johnson (WI) wants to split up the 1BBB into two or three Bills.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said doing that is DOA in the House.
“We’re going to have another reconciliation bill that follows this one, possibly a third one before this Congress is up, because you can have a reconciliation bill for each budget year, each fiscal year. So that’s ahead of us,” Johnson continued, also pointing to separate plans to claw back money based on recommendations from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). “We’re also doing rescissions packages. We got the first one delivered this week from the White House, and that will codify many of the DOGE cuts.”

What to do?
Mike Johnson is right that this congress will be able to do TWO reconciliation Bills before the mid-term elections in 2026.
So Mike and the Senate need to negotiate a second reconciliation Bill starting with the agreed upon senate changes that will not pass if included in this BBB.

Failure to launch means that Republicans simply cannot govern, and then when the democrats get back in after the 2026 mid-terms Republicans will be marginalized and even more hapless.

Need as spine to run a govenment as large as our.

The GOP lacks said spine.

It is difficult to slow down the goodies that keep increasing year after year above the inflation rate and even causes inflation when others condemn that type of thinking smearing that idea and making those who flout any responsibility in budgets look like mass murderers. And people vote on fears from it.

yes. Why do you think that the media and the DNC keep touting the lies that people are going to die from the non-existent cuts promoted by DOGE and not even codified yet?

You can already see that the media is in the backpocket of the spenders and they know that their job security rests on going along with the media.

Along with invaders perpetrating violence on behalf of the criminal element in their ranks, the media stoking it, and Americans propagandized by the universities, this country is already lost.

Newt and Clinton came close to doing it so it can't be that hard.

If people are kicked off Medicaid, there will be people who die over it.

The only people being kicked off Medicaid are able-bodied individuals. If they die from that, they died of shame.

No one will be dying from Medicaid being leaned out.

If they want a passed budget, MAGA and progs both will deal.

This is their re-election bona fides here.

Its one a year, but the GOP should get two bites of the apple before the mid-terms.
I think you are right. The Dems are focusing on 2026 biterms and do not want bad optics any more than the GOP does.

At that time, they could have made permanent cuts more expanding. They did not. This decade was the maximum amount of income the baby boomers earned in possible taxation to the government. They started to slow down when W was in office.

That was before the interest on the DEBT was more than $1b, and climbing fast...

It was still a huge site better than the current one.

All this stuff in California is to distract us from this monstrocity of a bill. California is also to distract us from what Elon said. Stay focused. Trump's economy sucks.

True. If its not Paul Ryan its the Freedom Caucus, if its not the Freedom Caucus its the House guys from blue districts, if its not the House guys from blue districts its the senators who never compromise.

Biden and the Democrats lucked out that the budget was bloated from Covid, so the CRs were chock full of extra cash for slush funds. They never cared about how much they borrowed or added to the debt.

If the dollar collapses there won't be any winners. The only "Hail Mary" I can think of in the House is if they put the top rate at 40% that Trump supports. Even that would probably not be supported by democrats, since failure to pass the BBB means the tax cuts expire.
