Trump certainly had coattails. I thought for sure that if he won then the Senate and or the House would go to the democrats. I was wrong, I sold the American people short.

The lack of support for Trump had nothing to do with the losses.

Mark Kirk had been a dead man walking for well over a year now. He won an election during a Republican landslide in a very Democratic state by a slim margin. His approval ratings have been in the toilet for a while now.

Joe Heck lost here in Nevada because the Harry Reid machine was out in full force. The Democrats also defeated Cresent Hardy in NV-04 and flipped the open NV-03 seat. They also took the majorities in the State House and Senate. Nevada is one of the few states Democrats had a good night in and that was probably BECAUSE of Trump and our high population of Hispanics who made sure to get out and vote against the GOP.

As for Kelly Ayotte, New Hampshire was razor thin. Both her and Trump lost the state by less than 2,000 votes.

Regardless, the expected election-year landslide because of changing demographics and so on never materialized.
