The FBI, in reviewing instant background checks for firearm purchases, detected 112,000 lie-and-try crimes in fiscal 2017 alone, and federal investigators had names and addresses on the filled-out forms. How many were prosecuted? Twelve, according to a recent Government Accountability Office report.
More evidence that we don't need new gun laws, we need to enforce the current laws.
How may fewer crimes would we have if these 112,000 people were taken off the street for committing a federal felony?
The vast majority of our arguments revolve around something already illegal but not enforced. Guns, immigration, financial, etc.
Because too many people allow our bureaucrats and elected politicians to violate their oaths of office, refuse to enforce our laws, while they are in office.
They are caught up in the partisan blame game, where they fear to call out someone from their political party. Chastising politicians from their own party is viewed as possibly influencing the outcome of the next election. So they bite their tongues, laws are broken and never enforced, and our nation pays the price.
