Replacing taxes with tariffs

Well, there is always just having a national sales tax. We could do it that way. I think if he's suggesting using tariffs, then it pretty much will be a sales tax as prices would increase. However, lowering the price of gasoline will lower inflation and offset the increase of costs based on tariffs or sales taxes. Getting rid of many government departments will also assist quite a bit too.
Again, that is a regressive tax.

Given the composition of Congress? I doubt seriously that any of those would be approved as well.

Quit buying Chinese made garbage and contributing to the national trade deficit. Voila.
I think I will continue to buy for the vendor that provides the goods I want, of the quality that suits intended purpose, at the most cost effective price. Feel free to produce at competitive prices. Otherwise, I will continue to put off paying 20% plus more, as it puts more money or keeps more money in my pockets. I really don't care about your taxes.

I don't. The people have spoken and if those in Congress go against Trump, they will surely lose their seats in the next elections. Time to make some changes and to start with, eliminate the IRS. Regressive or progressive, those are just words with little meaning out of context.

Not a good idea unless the 16th Amendment is repealed first otherwise the next time Democrats take power we'll just end up with high Tariffs (Consumption Tax) AND an Income Tax.
Who would vote for that? Hey, knowing how bad the IRS is towards individuals and politicians, let's bring it back. LOL!!! Not a chance. The amendment doesn't need to be repealed.
