If they wanted all the evidence the FBI has, they only needed to authorize the bipartisan January 6th committee, with full subpoena power. But they turned it down.

Now they're seeking evidence in order to prepare a cover story for their behavior on that day, that the videos reveal.

After all the FBI is currently only looking at footage for evidence of chargeable crimes, not the actions of congressmen, including any that may have assisted the mob.
