The US gets its electricity from powerplants, 40% are coal, 40% are gas, and 20% are nuclear. Green Energy, aka Renewable Energy, couldn't supply enough electricity to keep the US economy running. If/when renewables become viable the cost of it will be sky high and make US products uncompetitive, not to mention US electric bills to consumer, and this is before gas powered cars get replaced with EVs, which will take even more grid capacity..
President Biden’s executive order to suspend oil and gas leasing on federal lands and offshore waters for one year is, not surprisingly, pi$$ing off trump’s Nazis.

Dan “Winky” Crenshaw’s, R-Texas, couldn’t help but condemn the President’s decision, "Energy production is critical for jobs, our economy, and also funds coast-land conservation and hurricane preparedness," he continued. "This bill will ensure that production continues despite President Biden's terrible executive orders."
However, like the Coal Industry, Big Oil must face the fact that gasoline and diesel will also become obsolete energy sources. Conservatives have consistently shown their reluctance to accept this fact, but as time marches on, the right-wing’s semi-skilled, under-educated, white, blue collar workers will be forced to retrain, or leave the job market. (The Democrats’ fifteen-dollar-per-hour minimum wage could be looking really good to obsolete workers in Texas, really soon.)
During his 2016 presidential campaign, the con man trump promised to make the Coal Industry thrive again. But, he knew he was lying. Coal is leading the fossil fuel industry on its way to obsolescence.
To exacerbate the decreasing dependence on gas and diesel problems for Big Oil, the state of California recently announced that it will no longer allow the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035, so gas and diesel sales will drop significantly. While Big Oil can inflate fuel prices to compensate for the lower sales numbers, GM’s decision will cut fossil fuel sales by much more.
General Motors CEO Mary Barra unveiled the automaker’s proposal to make GM a net-zero-carbon company. That means phasing out of light-duty vehicles that run on gasoline and diesel by 2035.
The plan is to stop the production of gas-powered light-duty vehicles by 2035 and transition completely to electric vehicles to eliminate tailpipe emissions. It’ll be a transition that will take 14 years and, as time progresses, many of your favorite GM vehicles will switch from gasoline to electricity—yes, even the Corvette (or whatever GM decides to call it in the future).
Undoubtedly, all other manufacturers will follow GM’s lead, which could make Crenshaw’s bill to ensure that production continues despite President Biden's terrible executive order a habit Texas should try to stop before it starts.
Naturally, trump’s Nazis will hit the ceiling when air and water polluting fossil fuel powered vehicles are no more. But, their horse-and-buggy mindset has never slowed technology in the past. For example, LED light bulbs are commonplace, despite the trump Nazis’ tantrums over the gradual phasing out of incandescent bulbs.
So, while gas stations won’t disappear overnight, how many livery stables do you see today?
