Remember when Trump was shot? Did the left immediately call for more gun laws?

I can't find any Democrat calling for stricter gun laws. They do it after every other notable shooting.

Why not after Trump was shot?

weird,

You didn't look?
Representative Maxwell Frost, Florida's 10 district representative to the US House:
Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida, the youngest member of Congress, and a Democratic legislator
Six days after the assassination attempt, Frost sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson urging the House to be allowed to debate an assault weapons ban. The letter opened, "We write to you with an urgent and unequivocal call to action."
"The need to act against political violence is not a partisan issue, it is a matter of public safety and common sense," Frost wrote. "It should not take the attempted assassination of a former President for the Speaker of the House to act.

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell responded to the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump with call for stricter gun control.

Normally you never have to look as it floods the airways, the fact you had to look means the story was buried.

6 days after?...by a lone congressman? not immediate 24 hour saturation on the TV, newspapers and electronic media i.e. no striking while the iron was hot as is the usual?...
... in fact the medias disdain for trump is so ingrained that they missed a golden opportunity to strike down the second amendment for fear they would make him more popular as was the case with Reagan [who they then switched gears from and shifted their "compassion" first to Brady and when that hit a wall they shifted to his wife.]

The truth is this was the white liberals best opportunity to give their socially educated audience a moon to howl at and attempt yet again using it to strike down 2a...but alas, there is no vaccine for TDS.

Probably means, the story is over two years old, Biden and his anti-assault weapon (misnomer for AR-15) ban support is out of office, and the story is old news. He just did not look or took somebody else's word for his OP stance. It probably seemed like good political fodder, whether true or not.

No, they were disappointed that the shooter missed killing him.
And they wanted to confirm the shooter was a Trump supporter based solely on him being a registered Republican in a closed primary state and overlooking his alignment and support of ActBlue.

In fact, the left only squawks about 'assault weapons' after a shooting - even if that shooting does not involve one.
They know they can only advance their agenda while the bodies are warm and blood is wet -- they know if they put it in everyone's face all the time, people will grow tired and bored of it.
Much like their trans-weirdo agenda.

None of that would or should matter if the argument for gun control [to ban guns] wasn't unconstitutional, the fact that it is obviously unconstitutional is the reason it takes something like an assassination attempt to give white liberals [like the congressman and media] the cover they need, once the episode starts to wane so does the call for gun control as their cover is being removed.

EDIT: turns out the congressman is not white...my bad and apologies all.

Inane, irrational, ignorant, dishonest, and without a single redeeming quality.
Whatever it was.

OhpleaseJustquit, you tagged it as "Fake News" how can it be fake news, if exactly the news reported in news outlets, showing verifiable examples of exactly what the OP said did not exist, simply for not looking. Are you denying reality, for supposed political gain, with evidence clearly against you reported openly in the news, back at the time of the incident, or is it fake news, simply because you do not like it reported, when somebody on the right, says it does not exist. I did not even get halfway through the first page of results, of a simple DuckDuckGo search, even with the incident over a year ago, and before the elections. Perhaps you could explain what fake news is, when it is factual and not reported as part of an attack add.
