On Comey's firing, the White House keeps changing its story

Gosh, it was so confusing. Finally, it came out during an interview with Lester Holt. Comey was let go over "the Russia thing."

Fast forward to the incursion in to Venezuela to snatch Maduro. First, the hostilities began with blowing up people in boats cuz Americans were dying from using fentanyl. Then we learned fentanyl is not trafficked thru VZ. Then it was because Maduro was sending cocaine to the US. A rationale blown up (no pun intended) by this.

Trump admin pressed on pardon for ex-Honduras president after Venezuela’s Maduro snatched

Then it was about regime change..........even though Congress had been told it wasn't.

Sen. Murphy: Rubio and Hegseth 'literally lied to our face' about regime change in Venezuela

As of now there's a bit of doublethink in the air with trump saying US officials like Rubio are in charge of VZ., Rubio not being sure, while on the ground Maduro's VP is running the country. Which doesn't look like regime change.

Then it was about oil...........until it wasn't.

Oil Companies Contradict Donald Trump’s Remarks on Venezuela Consultation

So.........not fentanyl, not cocaine, not democracy, not regime change, and now maybe not about oil.

There have been military actions, or threats of military actions by trump taken in Venezuela, Libya, Nigeria, Yemen, Greenland, Columbia, Cuba, Iran, Los Angeles, DC, Memphis, Chicago, Portland, and New Orleans.

Maybe the reason for the VZ operation isn't as confusing as it seems. Maybe he's discovered his unique skills as a conman aren't necessary for imposing his will when you've got a great big army.

Insiders say it was the dancing that was the final straw.

All the rest may just be excuses for using the military to arrest someone who pissed him off...

Good thing he doesn't have to put the lives of US military personnel at risk, and spend hundreds of millions of dollars, each time someone pisses him off.

Hegseth censures Sen. Kelly after Democrats’ video urging troops to resist unlawful orders

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Monday that he censured Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona over the former Navy pilot’s participation in a video that called on troops to resist unlawful orders.

Hegseth said the censure — by itself simply a formal letter with little practical consequence — was “a necessary process step” to proceedings that could result in a demotion from Kelly’s retired rank of captain and subsequent reduction in retirement pay.

For months, a significant segment of President Trump’s political base has been complaining that he has spent far too much time on foreign policy — seeking a Ukraine deal and addressing a long list of other conflicts he claims to have settled — and too little on America’s economic anxieties.

His announcement on Saturday that the United States had captured Venezuela’s leader and would “run” the country for an indefinite period is adding fuel to that fire. As the scope of the operation was becoming clear on Saturday, critics said Mr. Trump risked getting the United States into the kind of open-ended conflict that he had railed against for years.

“This is what many in MAGA thought they voted to end,” Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Trump ally turned critic, posted on social media. “Boy were we wrong.”

trump 2.0 is so far strewn with broken promises. The Following doesn't seem to mind.

So what?... Comey is a criminal....

So what?... Comey is a criminal....
An allegation yet to be proven in a court of law based on a lack of evidence.

But, as you know, the thread is less about Comey and more about the shifting rationale for the VZ incursion. How can we be expected to make sense out of it when no one in the regime is able to?

They are saying at least 700 billion dollars in corruption in our budget now. It does not matter what you type.

Comey is a weasel and a criminal in addition to being an arrogant asshole. The fact that he's not in jail is proof that we have a rigged justice system.

Charitable interpretation...except they didn't need any excuses, so thats not what this is.

Trigger happy chaos is what this is. They got an opening, took the shot, now scrambling to figure out what to make of the situaiton

trump has likely already begun to focus on his next military action. We know how bored he gets talking about details, like what to do about VZ now that we have created a chaotic situation with an uncertain outcome.

Nah, they've already moved past it. Likely nothing else will be done.

Follow-through is not one of tRump's "virtues", lol.

The real story is that Trump was going to fire Comey from the get-go. He just wanted to lead him on a little bit to show the world how Comey would even kiss HIS ass to keep his crooked ass job. And Comey did kiss Trumpy's ass right up until he was embarrassed by his rejection. It really was a thing of beauty.

You're just as confused as ever. trump likes it that way.

Stephen Miller Asserts U.S. Has Right to Take Greenland

In a CNN interview, the Trump aide also echoed the president’s intent to run Venezuela as he laid out a case for the United States to control weaker states by flexing its military might.
Stephen Miller, a top aide to President Trump, asserted on Monday that Greenland rightfully belonged to the United States and that the Trump administration could seize the semiautonomous Danish territory if it wanted.

“Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland,” Mr. Miller told Jake Tapper, the CNN host, after being asked repeatedly whether he would rule out using military force.

The most dangerous people with power these days are members of the regime. They are the people filling Don's empty head with notions of conquest.

Since Comey is a traitor in every since of the word it doesn't matter what the story is. Comey is still a cowardly traitor worthy of a noose yet still denied. He is not even worth talking about. I wouldn't walk across the street to see him hang as he deserves.
