Swedish investigators have failed to determine who should be charged with sabotage of Russia's Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines and have closed the case, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson told Time magazine.
"We did a formal investigation because it didn't happen on Swedish territory, but in Sweden's economic zone. It was conducted in a rather traditional way and they (investigators. - Ed. note) concluded that they could not accuse anyone. They didn't have a case. So it is closed for us," the prime minister said.

They just didn't figure out how to declare the russians guilty and had to close it.

Trump wanted Germany to be forced to buy more expensive natural gas from the US. From a business perspective I do not understand what Putin did. The time and money invested in Nordstream 2 was huge...and the Russians can't eat their gas.

He said so - but that was wrong. When AngelsMerkel suggested to him to build a harbor for LGP ships from the USA for a billion Euro he suddenly did not like to deliver LGP any longer. (LGP and natural gas are by the way not the same. LGP has to be converted for to fit to the German net of natutal gas lines).

Russia invested 11 years and 3 billion dollars in Nordstream 2... Shutting it down before they sold any gas to the Europeans makes no sense to me.

They never got a license from Germany to use this pipeline.
