Here is how Reince (I didn't realize anyone still cares what he thinks) swept trump's remark about the creation of a post legal world for his presidency (beyond the one his Supreme Court already created) under the rug.

"In good times, in bad times, the President enjoys taking a grenade out on a Saturday afternoon, throwing it on the floor, and watching everybody react," Priebus opined. "Now, could it be a distraction? Could it be a diversion? Could it be just pure entertainment? This is what the President does."

Here's the salient part.

"And there's no downside," he added.
'Pure Entertainment': Reince Priebus Whitewashes Trump's Threat To Violate Constitution

If there ever is a downside, this experiment in autocracy is over.

What does a downside look like? It looks like this.

‘I’ve Had It With This Guy’: G.O.P. Leaders Privately Blasted Trump After Jan. 6
‘I’ve Had It With This Guy’: G.O.P. Leaders Privately Blasted Trump After Jan. 6 (Published 2022)

It looks like members of the POT making a decision not to stand by and do nothing while trump tells the country that daddy sidelining the Constitution is for their own good. But this time congressional POT leadership has to mean it. And so do rank and file members. They can't call out trump's unthinkable treachery on Monday and reverse course by Thursday like last time.

As encouraging as the protests, and lawsuits, and judicial actions have been.........it doesn't work if Repubs remain complicit in docile silence. Some aren't being silent of course. Some quite enjoy seeing the country burn. Are there still enough of them who see the fire for what it is? We will soon find out.

Yep.

He's a showman. All image, no substance. Kim Kardashian. He's participated in pro wrestling. He has a pro wrestling executive and a teevee "doctor" in his cabinet, for fuck's sake. He was a reality teevee star. It all feeds his profoundly damaged ego.

There's just no way to believe anything he says, and there's no way to predict what's coming. This is domestic and global instability in its purest form, and it's where he lives and survives. Chaos is his fuckin' comfort zone.

But was trump's suggestion he gets to decide what is illegal and what is not showmanship? Or his he softening the ground for an extralegal rationale allowing him to keep doing what he's done without legal recourse?
Or worse, to flat out ignore judicial rulings blocking his agenda.

I don't think Trump knows or understands or appreciates shit about the Consitution. All he knows is that it creates roadblocks for him.

I think the anti-Constitutional stuff is coming from the people around him. People like the fascist Stephen Miller, Musk, and others. Steve Bannon will always be on the fringes as well.

Trump has nowhere the intellect for the bigger picture stuff, and he knows most of his flock doesn't either. He's just using his enablers like they're using him.

He's come a long way for a guy who doesn't read. For someone who has his PDB, if there even is such a thing with him, in cartoon form.

Republicans excel at remaining complicit in docile silence; many are cowards, more want to see the country burn.

One wonders if that is because thus far they have only watched the fire burn from afar? What happens when it's their house that's burning?

They don’t believe that will happen.

This is about destroying the ‘political establishment’ in Washington and ending ‘business as usual’ politics – they have no problem with Musk’s techno-barbarians sacking the City and burning the political edifice to the ground.

What TV doctor in his cabinet? Who would that be? The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is not a Cabinet position.

You do know that Linda McMahon was head of the SBA in his first term?

Apparently, you don't know shit from Shinola.
