Theaters have been going down since the VCR became affordable. I do not miss the high prices, sticky floors, people talking, kids screaming, sound way too loud, having to miss 10 minutes of the movie going to the bathroom, not being able to smoke, the long drive home in the middle of the night and all the other hassles. I do kind of miss the drive-ins though.

I love watching movies on the big screen. It is a completely different experience watching it on a big screen versus even a large screen tv at home. I loved Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor. I also love watching old movies on a big screen. Planning to see two old Universal horror films at the movies this Saturday and a Godzilla movie the week after.

I think they have prevented smoking in movie theaters since at least the 1950s.

If a person can't go without their nicotine addition for an hour and a half then they are seriously addicted and will probably die of lung cancer soon.

And there are dozens of streaming services and one can get a 60 inch TV for what it would cost a family of 4 to go to the movies less than 10 times.

I will not watch a movie that has a Black as the lead character or main supporting actor. No more women super ass kickers. No more where the bad guys are White Supremacists. No more with queers.

That accounts for about 90% of the movies put out now and would explain why I am hardly watching anything nowadays. Even goddamn Negroes playing what should be White roles in the new GOT and LOTR series. How friggin woke is that shit? Why would anybody watch that?

My nine year old granddaughter spent last weekend with us and wanted to watch Hocus Pokus 2. It had queers, transexuals and except for the three witches the main characters were Negroes. The bad guys were all White. Fuck Disney.

People aren't going to movies like they used to, punishing Hollywood's America-haters

We used to go to the movies every week, without fail. But Leftists/socialists/America-haters are so rich, so filthy, they turned us off. The last two or three movies we went to see were so bad, we walked out and got our money back. They lie about America, they lie about our military, they lie about how serially racist Americans are, they lie about how awful men are while celebrating the mentally ill, which so many of Hollywood Glitterati are themselves. Transgenders, homosexuals, pedophiles, drug addicts, a thoroughly sick bunch, but hey, they've got money, so......

Only 12 theaters are closing, instead of all 542. More's the pity.

"Regal Cinemas’ parent company, Cineworld, is closing down theater locations as part of an ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, according to Deadline. 12 theaters across the country, out of a total of 542, will be shut down as the company wades through financial difficulties brought about by Covid-19 closures. The move is based on projections that the theater industry won’t return to pre-pandemic income until at least 2025."

That's a shame they are closing. I rather like going to the movies.

The last time I actually enjoyed myself at the movies was last year when the regal near me had a 2 day showing of "death rider in the house of vampires". Yeah it wasn't very good but I really enjoyed myself and had a great time. I really liked seeing something in the theater that was a fun movie without being weighed down by trying to appeal to everyone and not be offensive. It was nothing like most movies you see in a theater and that's what made it so much fun.

Before that the other time I had a lot of fun going to the movies was to see once upon a time in Hollywood. Everything else the past couple years has been a mish mash of mediocre to just awful.

Walk out on awful and get a refund from the theater. I've gotten my money back every time I asked, and it's been so many times that I stopped going. Hollywood Trash.
