This is an interesting question
When does all this "Freedom" start, exactly?
You mentioned the workplace the only freedom you have at the workplace is leave other than that you are at the dictates of your employer
Quite the contrary... work is unpleasant, or they wouldn't have to pay you to do it. But there's really no good reason why we have to lock down our workplaces like fortresses because management lives in fear that one disgruntled employee might do what THIS guy did.
Hours before 45-year-old Gary Martin shot and killed five co-workers at the Henry Pratt Company plant in Aurora, he allegedly threatened "If I get fired, I'm going to kill every mother f***** in here," according to a new report from the Kane County State's Attorney's office.

Back when I was in school it was common to see rifles hanging from truck rear windows. We also had firearms training
Really? Frankly, I went to school back in the 1970's, never saw a rifle hanging from the back of a window at school. Or anyone who came to school in a truck, for that matter.
Cops shooting people in fear thinking they have a gun? Do you want to provide some stats on that opinion of yours?
en.wikipedia.org
1536 people are shot by police in the US in 2019
in the United Kingdom, it was 2 people.
In Germany, they shoot it was 11 in 2018. (And Germany actually allows some private gun ownership, it's just not a "Right")
Japan is so low it barely rates.
So basically you are giving a false narrative about losing freedoms
No, I'm pointing out that we tolerate a lot of stuff other "Free" countries wouldn't tolerate to accommedate gun fetishists and a gun industry that is massively greedy.
