Real Racism

US Dept of Education looking into discrimination of Asian Americans at Harvard and Princeton.

US Dept of Civil Rights coughed up a study detailing how Asian Americans are discriminated against.

I wouldn't say that is doing "nothing" as you claim, PC.

I have to wonder why you are only concerned with AA discrimination.

1. "doing "nothing" as you claim, PC."

The motivation of your statement seems an obsession with proving an error in the OP.
Why is that?

Truth be told, there is no such claim in the OP.....is there?

2. But, the discrimination is shown, I would say proven by the SAT data, as is the institutional by the court decision.
(Supreme Court will decide later this year.)

Discrimination, de facto and de jure.

3. "I have to wonder why you are only concerned with AA discrimination."
Another bogus statement, one which you are not able to document.

The OP concerns only one aspect of discrimination....one which you have failed to condemn.

Waiting.

Can you imagine how Martin Luther King, jr, himself part Asian, would feel, confronted with the racism revealed in the OP!

"Martin Luther King Memorial Has Asian Eyes -- Just Like Meryl Streep

No sooner did the new memorial to Martin Luther King go up in Washington, with newspaper stories and TV segments all archived on Google, than a sharp-eyed British news reporter in Shanghai -- working for the Telegraph in London -- reported that the large marble bust of MLK was ''outsourced'' to China and carved by a Chinese sculptor working in China -- and that MLK's eyes even look a bit Asian in the artist's rendition."
Martin Luther King Memorial Has Asian Eyes -- Just Like Meryl Streep | The Wrap Movies

I'm sure he'd be shocked!

PC is Asian? That changes...........NOTHING.

Real Racism:

1. Number of white Americans who report using illegal drugs.....14 million.

2. Number of black Americans who report using illegal drugs.....2.6 million.

3. Black Americans are 10 times more likely to be jailed for drug violations than are white Americans.

How about a look at real racism, it being Martin Luther King's birthday...

1. Many believe that a college education is a high rung on the ladder to success. Still…it’s not one of the unalienable rights, such as life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Yet, if the bar to college is based on ethnicity, well, that sticks in the craw of American values. Speaking of which, the progressive value, diversity, has become somewhat of a bar if the ethnicity in question is Asian.

2. As of the 2010 census, there are almost 15 million Asians in the nation, 4.8% of the population. http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/briefs/c2010br-11.pdf

3. If a college or university uses racially-blind methodology, Asians are overrepresented in science and math departments. California Institute of Technology (Caltech), is such, and as a result, it is 40% Asian. Office of the Registrar - California Institute of Technology

4. In “No Longer Separate, Not Yet Equal: Race and Class in Elite College Admission and Campus Life by Thomas J. Espenshade and Alexandria Walton Radford, the authors looked at college applications from 1997, when the maximum score was 1600…

a. African-American students with scores of 1100 had the same chance of getting into an elite school as white students who had a score of 1410…but Asian-Americans needed a 1550 SATscore. http://press.princeton.edu/blog/201...nst-college-applications-from-asian-students/

b. Can you recognize ‘racism’?

No.

I recognize some sort of bias going on but there is insufficient information since the source seems to be quoting from a lengthier publication and several of it's link go to "page no longer found".

Racism: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

Not enough info in that bit to claim racism.

But….when getting elected is more important than supporting America's values….this is what you get.

Thank goodness, President Barack Obama has made numerous attempts, countless speeches in an attempt to smooth the path for Asian-Americans....

...oh...wait......

U.S. Department of Education Ends Inquiry into Harvard Admissions | News | The Harvard Crimson
The U.S. Department of Education has closed its investigation into alleged discrimination against Asian Americans in Harvard’s admissions policies following the withdrawal of the initial complaint, according to a department spokesperson...

...The same individual accused Princeton University’s admissions office of similar discriminatory practices, and that complaint has also been withdrawn.

But OCR’s investigation of Princeton is ongoing. Initially, the recently withdrawn complaint had been folded into a larger investigation prompted by an earlier allegation. Jian Li ’10 filed a complaint with the Department of Education in 2006 after being rejected from Princeton, according to a 2008 story in USA Today.

Sounds like they investigate these complaints.

Your point?

If this is "real racism" what is "fake" racism?

I take it you weren't picked?

Have someone explain the OP to you, and you'll see that your statement is untrue.

Nope. You're trying to make a case that Obama's doing nothing for so-called "real racism".

So...where's the fake racism? (PLEASE - no Sharpton moments - we all know he's a charleton and race baiter).

i do find it amazing how no one has addressed the OP, rather just attack the messenger

You must not have read all the posts then...if you had, your amazement level would be less.

"...where's the fake racism?"
Yup....most of what the Left calls 'racism.'

Fake racism is the "Ooooo....what he said!" pretense.

Real racism is when you don't allow students into college with the same grades....based on their race,

Now, laminate this and put in your wallet for future reference:
Reality is defined by actions, not by words.

There is no racism in using a derogatory term.
Hurt feelings?
Grow up.
