I just saw a professional news coverage of the power outage event there and even they failed to get a straight answer from anyone on just what exactly went wrong other than the bullshit stories of strange "oscillations" caused by "rare atmospheric events."

I didn’t know that Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were session musicians on the theme to “Goldfinger” with Sherlie Bassie.

I did not know that! That only makes the theme song of my favorite Bond movie even better. Did you know that Cher (of Sonny & Cher) also started out as a session singer until Sonny discovered her and championed her career.

Her brother was Jeff Beck.

One advantage of shortwave is that it can be directed (or received) beyond the curvature of the Earth instead of mere line of sight as it can be reflected off the charged electrical impedance barrier of the upper atmosphere (ionosphere).

When I was a kid, when conditions were right, I used to pick up radio broadcasts from all around the planet on my Zenith shortwave.
