One thing is certain....Rand Paul won't be moved on this issue.
The more Trump trashes him, the more energy he gets:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) doubled down on his objections to President Trump’s House-passed “big, beautiful bill” in Tuesday comments.

Paul said he strongly opposes raising the debt ceiling, which would be hiked by $4 trillion under the current legislation. Lawmakers have speculated the increase could cause debt to swell by $30 trillion over the next decade.

“I want to see the tax cuts made permanent, but I also want to see the $5 trillion in new debt removed from the bill. At least 4 of us in the Senate feel this way,” Paul wrote in a Tuesday morning post on the social platform X.

Republicans have a majority in the upper chamber but can only afford to have three defections to ensure the bill’s passage.

Paul, alongside Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Mike Lee
(R-Utah), has urged his colleagues to cut down on spending allotments to rein in the country’s debt.

I have no dobut the bill will pass.

But... the hold outs are going to cut the deficit in it and restore almost all of the medicaid cuts.

I do think the SS bonus deduction will pass. Robrt W and MartyBegan will be happy.

If the GOP does what Paul would like... I'm afraid republicans would be out of power in the house and senate... the dems would say they are cutting your goodies... if you want to reduce Debt. raise income through trade and the sale of Gas and Oil... and cutting waste and fraud....
Imagine the stories before the next midterms if we started kicking the ill off of medicaid...
Paul has lived through this before and he will again...

Those fools in congress still don't get it. They already borrowed and spent us into oblivion. No amount of tax increase or spending cuts can prevent the collapse. The only slight chance the country has of surviving this financial disaster is historic growth. Granted we can't spend every new dollar of growth. But that's likely exactly what those retards will do.

I say it's over, it's only a matter of time. You can't borrow this kind of money forever and when it collapses, THEN you will know real pain and suffering.

explain to me why musk and some R's are bitching about this bill? what exactly is in it they really don't like?
no tax on tips? no tax on OT?
The bill is 1000 pages which is insanity, longer than moby dick so what else is in there we don't know?

He'll now be labeled a traitor by MAGA and they'll demand he be primaried.

I'm sure Rand is quaking in his loafers.

The lobby and the uniparty quislings have been trying to primary Massie for years.

They always fall spectacularly.

But..they do show us who they are and what they're actually about in doing so. Which almost never aligns with the principles of fiscal responsibility and constitutionality. So there's that...

The more Trump moves left, the more his supporters should recognize and hold him accountable. With only about 20 fiscal conservatives in congress, there's no way they can fight the RINO machine.

Rand is only doing what Trump promised to do.

I love how big spending is now championed by self styled conservative Republicans.
The only thing they seek to conserve is the leviathan government.

Don't confuse the RINOs with "conservatives." They're not even close. RINO's are closer to the democrats than the conservatives.
IE, there's only about 20 actual conservatives in the GOP.

But it's so big and beautiful, JW.

There's very few conservatives left in America. Very few. Closest you're gonna come to it are the classical liberals.

And, I, for one, am offended to have to accept an adjective in order to placate this bunch...
