Civilians?? they are all uniformed and belong to official armed factions of Hamas. But there is no direct proof - if "crimes" were committed by Hamas controlled units. Obviously Hamas did not have control over other far more radical groups, that took part in that raid and are not part of Hamas. These fanatical killers don't even come from Gaza.

Those Hamas armed factions also battled with the IDF - aka the IDF lost around 300 - 400 IDF personal - not just civilians.

The problem is, most "Muslim states" (with exceptions like Iran and Saudi Arabia) have secular governments.

What I don't see is a country out there that is barely 50% Islamic that treats its non-Islamic minority (or possibly majority) as second class citizens in their own country.

The Palestinians picked Hamas because the more secular Fatah collaborated with the Zionists (who of course, screwed them at every turn) and pocketed a lot of that aid money that was sent. Under Hamas rule, Gaza has no free press, no independent judicial system, no civil liberty guarantees, etc. In contrast, Israel has a vibrant free press, a fiercely independent judicial system, and strong civil liberty guarantees. Over two million Arabs in Israel are Israeli citizens. There are Arab representatives in Israel's legislature (Knesset).
