The accused cop hasn’t yet been convicted. So, just for grins and chuckles, let’s imagine that he ends up being acquitted. Does that change the analysis?

Flip side. Even before a conviction (if there is one), maybe investigation showed the prosecution a genuinely sufficient basis to doubt the honesty of the cop. If that’s the case, then maybe the only morally right thing to do is to nullify any convictions that were dependent upon his testimony?

I am not jumping on either bandwagon without knowing a lot more. I don’t get a vote in it anyway. But being too quick to chastise an elected DA for prosecutorial determinations is maybe just a form of pre-judgment.
