Sorry, marine or no, that does not suggest "a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors." Sounds more like a "political hack." That said, I'd agree that short of Ukraine joining NATO, urgently encouraging diplomacy rather than resorting to violence seems the only legitimate role for the U.S. there.

Russia, a signatory of the pact has broken it, and the US, another signatory, is obligated to respond.

If we don't, you can kiss the NPT goodbye.

It doesn't work like that. The current Ukraine government was internationally recognized, thus is the successor State to any treaty or agreement signed by the previous government.

Of course they recognized it, it was their puppet regime they installed. It doesn’t make it legitimate. Bottom line is US and Euro will justify going to war in Ukraine if they want. And it won’t be because some treaty, it will be because it makes them money and/or it fulfills their Agenda.
