Putin must be furious. His military has been shown to be "not ready for prime time." They have stalled outside Kyiv. They are unable to take the capitol, so they have switched their strategy to the east and began a more coordinated effort to kill and terrorize civilians.

If you every doubted that Putin was a monster, this should convince you. His military cannot defeat the smaller and less equipped Ukrainian military, so he will begin slaughtering innocent civilians. The evidence of war crimes are piling up like hair dye bottles at trump's beautician's shop.

It may result in what I suggested earlier this war could become, a future Ukraine not unlike the old East/West Germany division of years past. It seems that Russia can't take Kyiv which they need for full control of Ukraine.

He won't control them. The Ukrainian people have shown incredible courage and resilience. Can you imagine if the people in Afghanistan had shown as much courage and push back against the Taliban? But I guess it is two very different situations.

Pootin is in a mess and he is not sure how to get out of it. If he tries to partisan the country, he will be battling insurgents and gorilla warfare for the foreseeable future.

In a sense, the Ukrainians have won this war. They have Pootin backing down and dramatically reducing his strategic goal. They should be proud.

He has already annexed parts of EAST Ukraine from 2014 and has steadily increased his hold on parts of East Ukraine he wants to annex while doing little more than attack Kiev to help pin down the main Ukrainian army in the West.

If you had any clue about Military strategy you would understand that Putin knows what he is doing.

Why don't you study how Montgomery's plan to attack Caen hard in June 1944 was a brilliant diversionary plan as it kept most of the German forces focused on that area allowing the Americans much further to the Southwest to build up and eventually unleash COBRA plan that swept the Germans out of Western France in just a couple months time.

Nonsense. The Russian Forces encircled Kyiv. And struck out at Lviv. I know I probably spelled those wrong. Deal with it.

Russia used airborne troops to secure airfields. This is done to allow follow on forces. Belorussian forces entered from the north. Not on a whim but as part of the overall plan.

Chechen Mercenaries were involved from the get go.

Russia expected to overwhelm the Ukrainians. To simply swamp them using the combined arms tactics that they are famous for. And it didn’t work. The reason it didn’t work is a couple guys with a missile can hit a tank or armored personnel carrier and stall a column. That allows other forces to converge and attack.

Russia lost the initiative on about day three. After that it became a slogging match. And there Russia was unprepared. They did not have the logistics prepared for a long campaign. And they didn’t have sufficient reserves for it.

Russia expected to take all of Ukraine. Their plan was obvious. Cut off resupply from Poland. Stall the resupply with threats of nuclear war. It should work. And did work for a few days. After that the NATO countries decided that Putin wouldn’t Nuke anything over some weapons shipped in.

Putin’s idols screwed up too. But he didn’t learn. Stalin thought North Korea would be a cakewalk. And it almost was. Hitler thought Russia would collapse.

Putin didn’t learn from their mistakes. He forgot the biggest lesson from his time in the KGB. Everyone is lying. If the Army says they can do it. They can’t. If the Intelligence says the Ukrainians won’t fight. They will. Everyone lies in the Soviet System.

Putin has done nothing but lie.

He doesn’t deserve respect. He has earned only derision and mistrust.
