According to the NWS Storm Data, over the last 30 years (1989-2018) the U.S. has averaged 43 reported lightning fatalities per year. Only about 10% of people who are struck by lightning are killed, leaving 90% with various degrees of disability.To put it nicely, poor blacks have more to fear from lightning than bad cops.
Yeah. That's correct.. Total number of UNARMED people killed by cops last year -- 41.. Right in the same ballpark.. And that INCLUDES all the fucked up, wrong address, no knock raids for the Drug war...
I follow this closely and the lightning comparison is NOT far off..
BTW -- of the 41 -- 19 were white.. 11 were black.. So the comparison is all the more appropriate when stating the likelihood for unarmed black killings..
