Unions protect the incompetent, lazy and criminal. Good employees dont need union protection. Their job performance is their own protection.

Unions served a purpose 100 years ago. but tend to hold back the best and brightest today, while rewarding incompetence.
This removes incentive; kind of like the Soviet Union.
Even the Patron Saint of modern Progressive/Liberalism FDR was against public sector labor unions.

With union decline wages are stagnant and economy slow. Clearly they are needed. There is no strong middle class without them.
