When my husband was dying he had a home care nurse that was always supposed to be a wound care specialist. His surgical wound was huge. It was his thigh, from groin to knee and half way around. It required a wet dry dressing with a vacuum until it healed enough to put in a skin transplant. The white nurse would just change the dressing. The black nurse would say "I'm not doing this shit" and leave. I learned how to change the dressing myself. They just brought the supplies

Sorry for your loss, you shouldn't have to be a caregiver at such a time.
