It's an imperfect science, but a very legitimate one nonetheless.

Problem with it is we don't yet have Star Trek medical tricorders to determine empirically what's going on in someone's brain. So the typical method of figuring that out involves throwing one med after another until a desired effect manifests itself.

I mostly agree 'jake' , push meds and of course office visits and they get to be called 'doktors' . I refer to psychiatry as a pseudo science . Its mostly all speculation and guessing , IMO !!
