Providence Approves Palestinian Flag Raising over City Hall

There is no Palestine. Why the hell are we celebrating something that doesn't exist. We might as well give queer Eskimos a day while we're at it.

I wouldn't endorse this if it were an Israeli flag, a Union Jack, or a Ukrainian flag either.

No other foreign symbol is legally permitted to fly over a public building in Rhode Island, it's enshrined in state law - period.

But, of course, the asshole cosplaying Leftists have to inject communist politics into the public square every chance they get.

Sadly, this isn't a first.

In 2020, the town of Barrington, RI flew a BLM flag over their own city hall.

And Barrington is wealthy and virtually all white.

Because of course.

According to communications from the City Council office, both in an email to members of the City Council and in an email to GoLocal, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley has approved the Palestinian flag being raised over Providence City Hall in a ceremony on Friday.

“Council President Miller received a request from the community to raise the Palestinian flag tomorrow, [SIC} Thursday, May 15. As we do for many countries, cultures, and celebrations throughout the year, the flag will be up for the day of the event. It will be taken down in the evening, and used for a flag raising from City Hall, approved by Mayor Smiley and the Dept. of Public Property, at 12 pm on Friday, May 16. All are welcome to attend,” wrote City Council’s new communications director, Marc Boyd.

That email was signed by the Chief of Staff, June Rose. Rose has been arrested twice in protests. The most recent arrest was at Trump Tower in March.

Smiley wrote in an email to GoLocal, "At the request of the City Council and two constituents, the City is flying the Palestinian flag."

A spokesman for Smiley, Josh Estrella, writes, "The Mayor’s office was informed that City Council will be hosting a flag raising ceremony outside of City Hall in a public space on Friday.

We have Palestinian American residents of Providence and are happy to celebrate their culture, as we do with many other communities. We hope that we can use opportunities like this to help foster thoughtful dialogue and unity, and that it is not used for divisiveness."

Earlier today, GoLocal unveiled that the Providence City Council Chamber is now flying the flag of Palestine.

Traditionally, the Council Chambers were adorned only with the American flag, the flags of the state of Rhode Island, and the city of Providence. Now, the Palestinian flag is located directly next to the City Council President’s dais.

The messed up part is the mayor just returned from Israel, paid for by a local Jewish alliance.

Since the raising was made at the request of (2) whole constituents....I'm guessing 3 asking it not to be raised would change their mind.

The call to prayer will soon be heard across Rhode Island and those that don't submit will be be put to the sword....
Ah!! the Religion of peace...

So you don't think its a big thing for antisemitic flags being displayed on government buildings?

You would have fit right in , in 1930's Berlin.

But what you fail to see, the promises of national Socialism give nothing to you rank and file libs.

While the common nat. Socialist was queueing up at the Hitlercare Clinic, the fuhrer himself got fully private care from the highly paid and rated Dr. Ted Morell.
No, Nazi germany would not let any flags be flown but theirs, this is not Nazi Germany it is a free nation, I know you hate that but tough shit.

The history of the Christians is also bloodstained. There are no innocent nations. All religions have existed in a state of war at some point in their history.

Plus, the Constitution says you can't make laws against religion, so it looks like the Founders told you and yer ilk, tough shit.

I HOPE that happens.

You'd see this weird socially conservative, fiscally liberal state finally throw the bums in the state house out en masse.

Uh, they would raise it the same way.

Nope.

They wouldn't.

The Leftist nutjobs in the Providence City Council are behind this, and they abhor Israel.

Not that raising an Israeli flag would be justified either.

But, of course, no one who supports Israel is asking for that to be done to begin with.

Kinda proves who the actual authoritarians are, huh?

Whatever you are getting at there always seems to be on side versus another or a many on one side and many on another side. It is just choosing what fits better and delineating good versus evil.

Many European countries, including the U.K., France, and Germany, are experiencing growing concerns about immigration, particularly from Muslim populations, and the challenges of assimilation. This has led to political debates and movements that emphasize national identity and the perceived need for stricter immigration policies, the impact of radicalization on social cohesion and their concerns of national security.
