WASHINGTON — When federal police officers violently cleared protesters from the city's Lafayette Square in June 2020, they did it so a contractor could install fencing — not to let President Donald Trump hold a photo opportunity at a nearby church, an investigation by the Interior Department's inspector general has found.
That finding, published Wednesday, is likely to surprise many critics of Trump, who have long asserted that the president or his attorney general ordered the operation to pave the way for an act of political theater. That is also the central allegation of a federal lawsuit by Black Lives Matter against the Justice Department.
The report found no evidence of that, but did find that Attorney General William Barr urged officials to speed up the clearing process once Trump had decided to walk through the area that evening.

That was the first excuse they floated. Which, like so many Trump excuses, was preposterous.
Lafayette Square never had any kind of fence around it for over 200 years.
And what contractor would normally put up a wall of temporary fence on Sunday night at 7PM?
DC would have issued the permit. So, the police would have known about the schedule.
As it was, Trump ordered the attack 30 minutes before the permit expired, and started attacking the crowd with flash bombs and tear gas.
BTW, the fence was gone in less than 30 days.

Right now, your “party of freedom” is conducting public harassment,racial profiling, imprisoning people without charge or due process, and railroading them into hastily built makeshift prisons.
And, the “z party of freedom” had radically increased funding for a national level political police force. One that tries to hide its identity as they are beating people up.

What's wrong with racial profiling?
The following seems to be off topic but as an illustration it fits into the idea of RACIAL PROFILING WHAT YOU BROUGHT UP.
"A report in 2014, opens new tab made a conservative estimate that more than 1,400 girls were sexually exploited in the town of Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. Many were already known to local services because they were in care or had been subject to neglect.
It said girls as young as 11 were raped by large numbers of male perpetrators. It said local officials deemed the children to be having consensual sexual intercourse.
The report said the majority of known perpetrators were of Pakistani heritage and that in some cases local officials and other agencies had been wary of identifying ethnic origins for fear of upsetting community cohesion, or being seen as racist."

Well physical acts have been defended as 'speech' i.e. media opinion, artistic expression and such.
But free speech does not include violating the law, violating the unalienable rights of others, vandalism, arson, physical violence, interference with lawful trade and commerce, etc. And those engaged in that should be treated as harshly as necessary to restore law and order. Arrest and incarceratoon are certainly appropriate.

"Protesters piled up road signs and plastic barriers and lit a raging fire in the middle of H Street. Some pulled an American flag from a nearby building and threw it into the blaze. Others added branches pulled from trees. A cinder block structure, on the north side of the park, that had bathrooms and a maintenance office, was engulfed in flames."
There are times racial profiling is the honorable thing to do. If a bunch of black gang bangers commit a serous reported crime, it would be ridiculous for the police to check out white people of probably European descent along with black people in their search for the criminals.
If you're looking for members of an Asian gang that committed a serious crime, it would be stupid to be checking out black people.
When it is reported that somebody intends to highjack an airliner, and the incidents of that are almost always people from the Middle East, it would be natural for the authorities to be scrutinizing people fitting that description more than any others.
If the bank robbers are obviously white, then the cops look for white guys.
