Highlights of tonight's speech (in no particular order):

1. Fetterman shook Trump's hand.
2. Al Green made a complete ass of himself again.
3. When Trump started going off about the Somali fraud in Minneapolis, Rashida Tlaib (who was wearing a F*ck ICE button), and Ilhan Omar were apoplectic, practically out of their seat yelling.
4. When Trump invited all in attendance to stand for America and for putting American first ahead of illegal aliens and hardly no one on the democrat side would stand up.
5. When Trump called out Pelosi for her millions in insider trading.
6. For the many heroes and victims of major news events more numerous than I can recall all of them now, including two 100 year old war heroes, but none was more emotional than the soldier who planned the military raid to capture Maduro, flew a Chinnook in, got all shot up by machine gun fire, but managed to still land the craft and pull off the mission before losing too much blood, who despite still recovering from surgery and still can barely stand and walk without a walker, was there to receive the congressional medal of honor from a 3-star general.

I missed that! I am going to have to watch a replay because my TV cut out and it took me a few minutes to get it restarted, but I caught the beginning of the actual speech.

Trump was shaking his head at that, and so was I. Can you believe it ?

I went through 16 years of public school and every one of them, my teachers told us that the # 1 job of the govt is to PROTECT the people. When Trump said that, every Republican stood up and clapped. Almost all (if not all) Democrats remained seated. Unbelievable.

So are they saying that this is not true ? Do they think government's #1 job is not to protect the people ?

The Democrat response speech was a joke. Spanberger claimed that Trump is not working to keep Americans safe. That is absurd. His mass deportation program has gotten huge numbers of serious criminals off the streets and deported. Putting the National Guard in Washington DC, Memphis TN, and New Orleans, LA has made those previously dangerous cities much safer.
He has also gotten rid of lots of judges notorious for letting dangerous criminals walk free.
He is currently getting rid of the massive fraud crime in Minnesota, having already convicted dozens of criminals.

So Spanberger asked "Is the president working for you ?" I would say as for keeping Americans safe, yes, he has been doing that, very much.

As for the affordability question, I will need more time to assess that.
