Red State! Amen.

A quibble or two about a sentence fragment here and there aside, the thrust of the President’s message (via “Truth”) is very good news.

Yes. We do all want peace. And by that I mean the end of killing soldiers on both sides and of the killing civilians by Russia on the Ukraine side.

Like many other people, I hate the idea of seeing Putin “win,” in any way. And if that scumbag, Putin, gets to retain any land he grabbed during the 3 years of his war, that is a kind of a “win” for him.

Nevertheless, it is a notoriously sad truth, that we can’t always obtain true justice. Maybe settling for an end to the slaughter will simply have to suffice.

Here is a snippet from a column that struck me as soon as I glimpsed the headline.

Many of have long spoken to Trump's ingrained view of the world as transactional deals to be made by winners and lost by losers. When Trump "fielded a question about whether he might nab the coveted Nobel for a separate Israeli-Hamas hostage deal (which former President Biden initiated)."

He went straight t character as a victim:

“I deserve it...But they will never give it to me.”

Column: Is this the way to win a Nobel Peace Prize?

For someone with “a hyper-fixation” about winning the Nobel Peace Prize, as an advisor put it, Donald Trump sure is going about it all wrong in his second spin as president and purported peacemaker.

Just as Neville Chamberlain didn’t get the award after appeasing Adolf Hitler by ceding the Sudetenland — “peace for our time,” the British prime minister declared, just a year before Germany next rolled into Poland to spark World War II — Trump won’t win a Nobel should he broker “peace” in Ukraine on the terms he’s lately gifted to its invader, Russia’s Vladimir Putin. And just as in 1939, Poland could be the emboldened aggressor’s next target, and not the last.

Nor would Trump be feted at some future Oslo award ceremony if he realizes his vision of peace in the Middle East: the ethnic cleansing of 1.8 million Palestinians from Gaza, to who-knows-where, so Americans can create a second “Riviera” — with the help of U.S. troops if the region doesn’t capitulate.

:salute:
I salute your stance here, sans any caveat

If you look at the mineral map of Ukraine, Russia already captured half of Ukraines valuable minerals.
And Trump wants the mineral rights to half of Ukraine's half.
Trump and Putin will walk away with 75% of Ukraine's valuable resources.
