Last Night the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears - on their own sidelines - linked arms and stood for the National Anthem. Other teams - like the NE Pats, NO Saints, Cinn Bengals... - have announced they will do the same this weekend. More teams are stepping forward as well.

In response to the League's disrespect for the National Anthem last week backlash among fans spread like wildfire. It was reported that 58% of the American people were opposed to the kneeling during the Anthem. Fans began burning season tickets, jerseys, and other memorabilia. Satellite TV began giving refunds to fans who did not want their NFL Channels anymore, businesses began pulling ads during NFL games, and endorsements were being pulled from players.

The NFL and its players got the message - it is your right to exercise your 1st Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech...but their are also repercussions for your actions.

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys demonstrated to the entire NFL last game that they can stage a protest by taking a knee BEFORE the playing of the National Anthem and avoid disrespecting the National Anthem, which is what they did. Some of the teams who have announced they will stand for the Anthem this week have also stated they will follow the Cowboys' example by taking a knee before the Anthem. Good call.

Dallas is just playing games, it is a football game, which I will not be watching after many years.

Money wins.

NFL players are perfect Progs.

Their concern ends when their paycheck is theatened.

Stand for the anthem per NFL rules.

France wouldn't let us use their airspace to attack Libya after they bombed our embassies in Africa,

It will go away but all this did was hurt the ratings of an already sagging business model. Ratings have been dropping for a few years, particularly in the beginning of the year. Part of the problem may be "saturation". Too much of it. Heard this on a sports talk show. You get NFL Sunday, Sunday Night, Monday Night and Thursday night. Many watch college on saturday. And if the kid plays you have either PeeWee on Fri/Sat Night.

So ad this protest to the mix and ya got ratings problems.

The New Orleans Saints have released a statement saying they will all stand for the National Anthem and honor the flag in their game against the Dolphins in London Sunday. Their owner, 90 year old Tom Benson, is a WW2 Navy veteran.

The players should speak about political issues on ESPN.

Some hour long show every day when they only talk about black issues.

Then get out and do things in the community that make a difference....kneeling for 90 seconds once a week is nothing.

To all the people on here who boycotted, burned their NFL merchandise, turned in their tickets, or threatened sponsors, I got 1 thing to say to you--------->

CONGRATULATIONS! When the NFL stands for the national anthem, what it really means is---------> YOU brought them, and these lefty phony baloney's on here, to their KNEES-)

Now, lets follow through with any other professional league that pulls this crap, and remember this............money talks, BULLSH** walks, even to the progies. One of our senators was going to introduce a bill to REMOVE the NFL's exemption. NOTICE what is now happening!

Leftists on here----->you lost, it is virtually over, and you look like FOOLS-) So, now remember to LAUGH at the leftists on here who thought that WE could NOT change the NFL's mind!
