If you knew how devastatingly ruthless the IMF and the world Bank have been on third world countries with their usurious loan demands and austerity programs you'd think twice before committing to such blather. Republicans can afford to drop some spare change on the poor once in a while with all that FREE money flowing in from loan sharking poor countries and dumping toxic drugs like AZT on them with impunity. Besides, it isn't due to any form of altruism...they do it for the tax breaks. That is what the studies focused on to make that dumb statement that conservatives are more generous. What that study doesn't show is the money given by democrats that isn't reported on their tax forms.
